This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The black plastic surface on the buttons on my '99 996 NAV system (bottom row) have rubbed off (previous owner using too strong a cleaner? Finger sweat ware?) and now can see the underlying white plactic as blotches where the wording was. Any hope of getting replacement buttons or are all part of the Nav system? Assuming no replacement, what fixes for similar balck plastic button/switch rub offs have worked for others (black plastic model paint? ) Any ideas on how to get some kind of script back? --Steve

POST 2Original post

Not sure if its same issue, I have '99 but not with nav. The buttons on my cdr 22 are covered with stickers...They have tiny frilly edges. They were fixed by dealer that way. I was cleaning the dash with windex and the 2 ***** got gummy so I ordered replacements. So yours should be fixable or replaceable by dealer or a place a Rennlister told me about called SWSTEREO.COM
