Bridgetone SO2-A in the rain?

I've read many posts concerning the SO2-A. My only question is how do they compare in the rain for an every day driver.

They are fine in the rain. My car is an everday driver other than the winter months which I change the tires for the S02As are great.

Yeah, I have a friend with them and he says they are excellent in the rain. Though no first hand experience here, so take it with a grain of salt.

I live in Portland. It rains all the time here. Even when its not raining it still rains. My SO2A's offer grat rain traction. Never had a problem with them. In fact, they are the only tires I would consider for my car rain or shine. Very sticky.

It's a great tire, dry or rain. It's amazing that the deisgn is still one of the best. The only downside is tire life which SO3 is supposed to be better. However, SO3 is not as sticky as SO2.

What, you mean it rains in the U.S.? Almost forgot what that stuff looks like out here in Sin City. DAMN DO I MISS ENVIRONMENTAL COLORS AND RAIN!

They are great in the rain. They are also good on the track....

Chris is correct. It's the internal Porsche designation for the Pepper.

I've got the S-03 and they are good under wet conditions even though my experience in the rain is limited to those days when I should have taken out the M3..... -Eli

I have them as well and am in the Seattle area -- plenty of rain! They are great in the rain.

so JimPDX, should we assume that your avatar pic has been taken sowere else than Portland? i had S-02 on my 964 whan i used to live in U.K Oxford, were it did rain 50% of the days there (summertime i was back in greece!!!!) they work perfect on the wet and they are very good on the dry... for the dry though i would go for the TOYO, but unfortunetelly there is no 285 series of them i.e. not available for my current 996 C2 01, with carrera 02 wheels on it... go for the S-02!!!!! yoy won't regrett....

We had 1 day of sunshine this year and I drove the car out of my garage and up my driveway, took the picture, and then pulled it back in because it started to rain... ps... Hey Jim! I use a Cannon MiniDV ZR series camcorder. I bought that one b/c of the 16x9 shooting capability. I use iMovie (Mac) to import and edit my video and one of the features of that program is "image capture" so I just picked a place in my video that I liked and made a still pic. iPhoto allows you to specify 16x9 or 4x3 as well so I can shoot in widescreen, burn a DVD in widescreen and then watch my track days on my 65" widescreen TV!!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! As for the camera mount I just fabircated my own camera mount to my BK harness mount in the car...about $20 in materials rather than the $150 mount that BK sells that goes with my harness bar.

Canon has real good glass. Just invested big bucks in a Canon system, with a Mark 2N, a D20 and a bunch of lenses and other stuff. So I guess for me, its so long Nikon. I want to do something like that with a inside mount set up and take a drive up the back roads to Hood with an open wide angle...but I still haven't figured out the camera mount yet. Chad had a nice video a few posts back. I'm gong to check his mount out... Jim

I have two mounts Jim. One is a suction cu rally mount rated to hold more than I could possible put on it! It works like a champ and I mounted it to the back glass with the camera resting on the back dash on a small cushion. Awesome video. Since then I have installed a BK harness mount in the car and put in another mount on the bar itself and the video angle is a bit better since it is closer and a fraction lower. Been very happy with both and the camera has performed flawlessly especially since I figured out how to adjust the exposure! The only thing I wish the camera had was an external mic attachment so I could get rid of the wind noise (windows required to be down) and then run a small mic to the rear apron taped near the exhaust. Now that would be sweet. I just didn't feel like spending $1K on a camera so I could have that feature. I think I paid about $400 for mine.
