Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK I am following your wise advice and I have ordered a bundle of Zaino products to polish and wax my 996. According to instructions I have to remove the old wax first using Dawn. Unfortunately down under in New Zealand we don't have Dawn (whatever that is). So will any dishwashing liquid do the trick? Palmolive? and if so how can I check to see if all the old wax has been removed before I start the zaino process?

POST 2Original post

Most dish washing soaps are harsh enough to remove the wax...that's why they work on greasy dishes. No need to check, just use the dish soap and have at it. The Zaino products are quite good, but time consuming to do too often, so do it right.

POST 3Original post

i agree, i wanted to do the same... after washing my car 3-4 times with palmolive, i did the job!!! here in Greece as well we do not have wax removers.....

POST 4Original post

I did my car with Zaino July 4th weekend. I was originally thinking I'd do it again in October, but the car looks good and water forms tiny droplets when it rains. Any opinions on when it actually makes sense to re-do the Zaino? (BTW it seems to be much more durable than the NXT I put on my wife's car the same day. However, I have indoor parking at work and she does not, and she takes her car to the car wash).

POST 5Original post

If you are Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover you don't have to worry about Dawn/dish soap or the such. The Z-PC will remove any thing and prep the surface for any of the other Z products.

POST 6Original post

You can wash the car all you want. But the idea of polishing the finish is to polish OFF all the unwanted residue. You want to get all the water mineral spots and other material that has attached it self to the finish. Bugs, paint, whatever, plus the old wax. Only then you are ready to put on new wax.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
