Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey all, just picked up a 99 996 c2 with 39000 miles on it... After having it a few days, I noticed a clunk when shifting as well as when I let off the gas, I'm thinking motor mounts, and my buddy said the engine does "lift" a bit under load when we tested it with the engine door open...what else could it be, trans mount? I hear people quick fix that with injections of silicone, does that work and what sort of product do u use? Thanks! -Denniso

POST 2Original post

I don't know if i agree with you. I've seen some silicone injections before and they sure do add some very nice lift and stability at the same time but then again, the more I think about it, the less I think it has to do with a car engine and more that it has to do with something else that got me going.
