it might be hard for those who don't know how to use the clutch though.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been doing some clutch research, because I know eventually the day will come when I have to replace my clutch. I would like to go with something a little stronger then stock but not to harsh for the street. During my search I read that there have been some problems with the lighter flywheels. Has anyone upgraded there flywheel and not had problems. Is this a NO NO for my car?
i have a segmented kevlar clutch disc w/ uprated pressure plate from clutchmasters. DO NOT GET IT FROM THEM. their kit lack a couple of bearings and you have to scramble to get the right ones from the dealer. also, i may have a defective pressure plate as clutch engagement varies at almost every stop. this may be a special circumstance and is not necessarily the case when performing this mod. SPEC clutches seem to have the same clutch material but comes with all the necessary parts. you can get it from board sponsor vivdracing.
i have an aasco LWF and it is working great. doesn't chatter, smooth operation, escellent responsiveness. i have stalled it a couple of times, not from a stop but actually coming to a stop from freeway speeds. i depressed my clutch and coasted and the engine stalled. i just let the clutch back out and the engine fired up. again, only has happened a couple of times.
if you are sensitive to noises in your car then DON'T GET IT. it does rattle.
i did it when i needed my clutch replaced and would do it again. wait until it needs to be replaced.
Any other Spec clutch users out there? I am actually considering one of their stage 2+ carbon kevlar clutches along with an Aasco flywheel when the time comes (likely same setup as Karlooz). Trying to find out if these are kit errors or maybe a defect or a systematic problem with the Spec clutches.
Personally, I am not impressed with the stock setup and feel mine (Boxster S) could use at least 50% (in stock form) to 100% (if I start modding) more clamping force/torque. I don't think I'm going to get that from seemingly mild "sport" organic clutches.
I have put Centerforce clutches in non-P cars and liked them a lot. Here is a good Spec clutch link but doesn't cover the 2+ (2I).

Just go with the stock flywheel and the sachs sports setup. (No springs in disc) Your 996 will never be able to deliver more power than that setup can handle. If you like noise, then get a LWF. I don't recommend it for daily driving.
as a my car is my daily driver, i can assure you a LWF is very streetable, very easy to drive. it might be hard for those who don't know how to use the clutch though. because it does make noise it is truly for enthusiasts who want extra performance out of the NA996. it has been AWESOME at the track. it helps rev matching tremendously. go onto the gt3/gt2 board. first thing most guys do is get a LWF. extra performance, end of story.
