Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello fellow enthusiasts, I have been doing my fair share of lurking, searching, and reading everything I can to gather an understanding for the 996. I have been on the hunt to purchase one, seeems like most of the new threads that pop up. Whether your into styling, performance, daily driving, Maintenance, restoring, projects, rare OEM parts etc... Please post up your favorite website to visit for your P-car needs (For what & why?) Coming from a VW background, there are hundreds of sites to visit. Some very bad and never to purchase from, Others that are great with fantastic daily deals on maintance parts, some sites for just performance, styling etc... then your very rare sites in Europe that make exclusive parts that are worth waiting a month to get in the mail. Being new it has been a little hard to catch on to the trend of what sites people are using aside from your board advertisments and big name brands (Fabspeed, awe tuning, GMG) an so on... Can't forget, every 996 threads needs IMS,RMS,AOS to be complete

POST 2Original post

Sunset, Suncoast, Pelican, AutohausAz, are some to get you started.

POST 3Original post

I've had luck with vertex, suncoast, and for shiny stuff automotion

POST 5Original post

http://www.pcars.com/ although I never ordered from there, the prices seem competitive

POST 7Original post

Pelican's great until you order a Porsche factory part from Porsche, then you pay retail + their margin... Other than that they are great!

Between Pelican and Suncoast, I can get 90% of what I need and the service from both is excellent. I would also add bumperplugs.com to the list.

POST 10Original post

Add Carneval in Europe, great prices and very good service from Gert

POST 12Original post

With my 996, I am finding that my local Porsche dealer is as cheap, or cheaper, than Pelican.

POST 13Original post

So who would have a good parts diagram for those parts you don't know the name of? Diagrams for an 02 Targa?

POST 14Original post

Pelican Parts for OEM Apex Performance (fantastic rennlist discount!!) 425 Motorsports Rennlist classifieds and member to member for sale ads

Mine is hit and miss. It seems for larger parts they are close but for smaller parts like bulbs, plugs, etc, they are up to 4 times higher at the dealer.

Carnewal is good for high end specialty stuff. That's where I got my X73. You just have to account for exchange rates and import duties when ordering from them. That said Gert is very knowledgable and helpful.

POST 17Original post

Paragon has excellent service. I ordered my GT3 sways and price almost doubled a week later. They honored their prices even though the parts were back ordered.

POST 18Original post

5150 Motorsport! I used to order from pelican & design911 but then i found 5150 Motorsport! Great guy to deal with.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While we do have excellent coverage of Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen models, our Porsche offerings grow every single day. Keep an eye on ECS Tuning, we have some really interesting product coming soon.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ECS is great for the VW/Audi platforms. However, since ECS has grown, i feel and experienced a drop in customer care/ service/ personability. ECS was the best in my book until they grew. I was an ECS customer for the last 10 years
