Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Sounds like the dealer while working on the radio disconnected a connection to your fuel gauge.

Suggestion
If you disconnect the battery on a C4 or C4S (cars with saddlebag gas tanks) with a low amount of fuel in the tank it will not read right.
Disconnect battery again and it should re-calibrate

This cures my fuel filling problem and my radio problem.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When trying to fill up it acts as if the tank is full and will not accept any fuel. The nozzle just clicks off. Th happend after I took the car to the dealer last saturday to investigate a radio problem. Tank says E and range is 0 but it is still going????
Sounds like the dealer while working on the radio disconnected a connection to your fuel gauge. You may have a full tank of fuel, just not registering it.
It could be that your E6 fuse is blown. Check out the thread for more info from 99firehawk (a Porsche tech) about the problem, particularly in the last post in the thread.

If you disconnect the battery on a C4 or C4S (cars with saddlebag gas tanks) with a low amount of fuel in the tank it will not read right. Fill the tank and then disconnect the battery again and it should re-calibrate. I think they put this in the owners manual - if memory serves me.
This happened to my '03 C4S one day. I forgot exactly what I did to clear it but try taking cao off and putting it back on, locking and inlocking doors, etc. tech explained that there is a computer malfunction that makes it think tank is full.
If you figure it out, please let me know. My 03 has been not accepting fuel properly for some time. Refueling requires numerous restarts of the fuel dispenser. Sometimes, it works fine, which suggests to me that it is not a fuse.
Well, I checked E-6 fuse and it is OK. It's at the dealer now. I will let you all know what they find. They are also looking at my radio since it appears to play and all display and functions work but no sound. (Bose system)
I had the same problem on my C4S and is a fairly common problem. Try positioning the fuel handle pointing upwards (or upside down) when filling up. Worked like a charm for me. Just be careful not to overfill.
It's weird I have this problem with only certain stations. I think the fuel tank pipe is so small that the back pressure builds up very quickly and shuts the nozzel off.
Of course I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about so take that for what it's worth.
c4s checking in here... sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't. don't know why.
i try to avoid stations that have the spring loaded types as they seem to be more finicky. the ones with just the straight metal pipe tend to work out just fine.
it's rather annoying.
Yes, It ws fuse E6....The funniny thing is that I pulled it last night and it did not appear to be blown. This cures my fuel filling problem and my radio problem. If anyone wonders how much it costs for the dealer to change a fuse it's $60. I'm just glad it was not something more serious and that they were honest. I was ready to shell out at least 4-$500 if I needed a new amp. I also wonder why these 2 completey unrelated items would share the same fuse.
Thanks for everyones input.
$60 to change a fuse?
Did you at least get a "reach around" while they stuck it to you?
OK, $400 you were ready to shell out for a new amp minus the $60 they charged you to change out the fuse equals $340 you owe me for the diagnosis! I'll accept a personal check, or a money order, or cash!
Glad you got that worked out!
