Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I managed to take one of the mechanics for a long test drive which he confirmed something was not right.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have an 02 C4 Cab that I bought just over 2 months ago and have a problem that even the OPC here in the UK seem to be baffled by. The car has 50k miles on the clock. Upon taking delivery of the car I naturally went for a long drive. For the first hour everything was fine. After an hour I noticed a slight knocking sound that could be felt on the steering and on breaking. There is no pattern to the sound, its just random. It didnt matter if driving on level ground, turning or speed bumps or the speed. The next day I took the car out again and the knnocking had gone until after an hour driving, where the knocking came back. Took the car back to the dealer who checked it out and said everything was fine. But to me it wasnt, it didnt feel right. Again all is ok first hour on a drive from cold. On a UK forum for 911's a number of people have the same problem and dealers not knowing what it is. I managed to take one of the mechanics for a long test drive which he confirmed something was not right. It's been at the dealers for 2 weeks with lower arms replaced among other things and they still havent figured out what is causinng this. Anyone here experienced the same knocking sound after driving an hour and have had the problem resolved, there are about 6 of us in the UK looking to resolve this issue. Many thanks from rainy London.
