This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone knows if it is possible to put a GT3 engine inside a 2002 996 C4 tiptronic ?

POST 2Original post

Yes, but you may have to change the tranny as well.

POST 3Original post

Since doing either will void your warranty, I would suggest Supercharging it. You'd get more power.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The tranny is the same as the 996TT tiptronic so it will cope ! I prefer the GT3 engine because of the conception (dry sump)

POST 5Original post

why not just add dry sump to the motor instead?

POST 6Original post

penguin, Should I ask what happened to your WRX? Long and sordid story or sudden, abrupt ending? Pete

POST 7Original post

if you can afford to do so, yes its possible (not sure if it will hook up to the automatic tranny tho) but the engine will fit (even into a boxter)... but its like a 60 thousand dollar engine....you could destroy 3 or 4 normal 996 engines for that price... if you plan on keeping your car a long time, then sure, why not? but otherwise, you're probably better off just working with the original block. (RMS leaks are far less common then this board makes it seem )

POST 8Original post

unless you plan to race 24-hr enduros on slicks w/ a full-race setup, the standard integrated-drysump is enough. a blower is prob a better option than a transplant.

POST 9Original post

^ he's probably right...if ur still conscerend...get the upgraded oil system option (gert @ carnewal has them i believe) and ur set...

POST 10Original post

It can definitely be done...the real question is why (since there much cheaper options out there), which brings me to the second question, how much are you willing to spend???

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanx for the info guys I think I will go for a 996TT tip ...
