That was after I replaced the boiling fluid - stock which was less than 6 mo old.

if you are just dying to get bigger brakes, call brembo instead and check into their grand turismo or le mans series which i believe are both lighter than stock.
Leading evidence: 'Replace boiling fluid - stock' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check into their grand turismo or le mans series' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Can I use 996TT calipers with 993TT rotors (Does this rotors fit the bolt pattern?) will this be better than my 996 98 brakes ?

the bigger TT brakes are likely used on the HEAVIER TT to provide an equivalent amount of fade resistence as is found on the LIGHTER C2 via the smaller (but still huge) brakes.

yes, you have to change your entire wheel carrier.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello to all!
Id like to hear other experiences on upgrading their brakes... Id like to upgrade my front only.. what could I do ??
Thanks in advance!
Conrado
A friend of mine wants to buy my front brakes for a resonable price, that allows me to get a better front brakes...
996TT calipers are better ? I understand that the rotors wont fit due to diff. bolt pattern, right ?
Can I use 996TT calipers with 993TT rotors (Does this rotors fit the bolt pattern?) will this be better than my 996 98 brakes ?
Thanks in advance!!!
Conrado
I would agree with Sloth and jyoteen, I think you're more likely to do harm than good this way. Nobody seems to report any issues with the stock brakes, especially with good fluid. The brakes are really well balanced and can overwhelm the tires under almost any circumstances. Keep in mind bigger brakes are usually heavier brakes, so why carry around extra unsprung weight for no good reason?
the only thing that makes the turbo brakes better than the regular brakes is that they have more fade resistance due to the extra pistons in the calipers. if you're not racing your car, you're not going to get any better braking by "upgrading" your brakes to the turbo models.
the turbo brakes have a different connector than the regular 996 brakes so you have to but a part that attaches them to the car. i'm totally drawing a blank on what it's called though...
i think you would need the TT wheel carriers (part that calipers and wheel bolt on to) as well as the calipers due to the increased diameter rotors, 12.5" -> 13".
the 996TT has the same bolt pattern as the 996NA, the wheel offsets are different. you can use the 996 TT rotors, calipers and wheel carriers.
your friend would need to use your wheel carrier as well if he wants to upgrade to bigger brakes.

yes, you have to change your entire wheel carrier. you won't notice ANY difference in the braking (i "upgraded" more than a year ago), but you will add unsprung weight to your car which will negatively affect lots of things including ride quality. if you are just dying to get bigger brakes, call brembo instead and check into their grand turismo or le mans series which i believe are both lighter than stock. again though, you're not going to get any better braking, but "might" reduce fade which is highly uncommon anyway unless you are tracking it fairly hard. the bigger TT brakes are likely used on the HEAVIER TT to provide an equivalent amount of fade resistence as is found on the LIGHTER C2 via the smaller (but still huge) brakes.
bigger brakes (I'm supposing bigger rotors) will add more heat capacity to your brake system. However, just make sure that the brake bias stays the same, and your front brakes do proportionally the same work as the rears do.
Obviously, the fronts do more 'work' because of weight transfer, but putting on the bigger rotors/brake system (which increases the torque) may result in greater amount of work being done in proportion to rears, thus INCREASING your braking distance...unless those bigger brakes have smaller pistons to offset that.
I dunno about the stock brakes being that great, especially with great fluid. I wasted a set of stock pads in the canyons and on a few laps at the track. That was after I replaced the boiling fluid - stock which was less than 6 mo old. However, after changing to pagid S pads which I drove on the street and track, no problems.
