Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

However, I used the TSB instructions and it worked great.

I would recommend that everyone has the police at least check the installation to make sure it was done properly and safely.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Greetings to all. Just took delivery of '03 C4S and trying to figure out how to attach the child seat tether in the rear. The manual shows a flap on the rear deck but I don't find any anchor underneath. Any help will be greatly appreciated. My dealer doesn't know but is trying to find out.
Thanks,
JayS

There is a TSB on Alldata that talks about the Child Seat - Top Tether Anchor Accessing instructions. For some reason some cars have the cuts outs for the tethers under the back carpet and others don't. In fact, the tethers are even on my 99 C2, however, you just have to look for them. The TSB has instructions on how to access the tethers and cut the holes.

I am now in the child seat phase of life too, so I thought I would add my findings in my '02 996 C2. There are 2 flaps back there on the subwoofer box, but nothing underneath. However, after careful examination of the carpet just behind the flaps, I noticed that it was pre-scored but not fully cut through. A little x-acto'ing later (sweat, pray) the carpet now pulls up and reveals..... the tether anchor.
So don't let the sub box flaps fool you- they may really be there after all.
This was on a car with the Bose option installed.

Maurice,
I did the same thing. However, I used the TSB instructions and it worked great. The cut-outs are there for the tether anchor, however, most people do not pull up the carpet to find them. The dealer told me that the 99 model did not have them.

I just got an '03 Cabrio with an under 20lbs baby seat. I had the dealer install it but it really did not seem right. I took my daughter for one ride but still did not feel comfortable.
I called the local police and they actually will install it for you free of charge and make sure that it is in perfectly. They are coming tomorrow morning...ah for once I am happy to see police lights in the rear view mirror!
I'll let you know how it works out. I would recommend that everyone has the police at least check the installation to make sure it was done properly and safely.
