Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My clutch is slipping and I am debating whether or not to replace the ims if mine is in good condition?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just did the clutch/RMS/IMS/AOS done. Clutch was getting weak and I was concerned about all IMS nightmares. The clutch was a little less than half left according to the mechanic. New clutch operation is AMAZING! very smooth and linear operation. Great grip. Clutch slave was replaced a well since there was a split in the boot.
All stock parts were used except for the IMS bearing. LN bearing is what my dealer wanted to use. The RMS was original and leaking a little. IMS was in top shape at 61k miles. bearing is smooth, no play and seal is intact.
I enjoyed driving the brand new cayenne diesel for a week. What a car!!! Tons of torque, refined and comfortable...So glad to have my car back though especially with the new clutch it is great.
so you did all that at the dealership including the IMS ? I am surprised they toy with the LN parts at porsche dealers... how much for the whole thing ?
this dealer only does ln bearings. the mechanic is top notch, he was recommended to me by one of the members here. They took me to the shop, showed me every piece that came out of the car. they even showed pictures of the condition when it was transmission was first removed. they had the old bearing in a plastic bag, remarked about how smooth and tight it was. Showed me the original RMS which had never been updated.
Overall a fantastic eperience. I highly recommend Stevinson for Denver folks. Mechanic's name is Chance.
My clutch is slipping and I am debating whether or not to replace the ims if mine is in good condition? Thinking about using the $650 for a warranty that would cover a bearing failure, if such a extended warranty exists?
