Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

To my dismay, the PO apparently had an accident and replaced the entire nose with GT-2 parts, meaning radiators and AC compressors.
Leading evidence: 'Replace entire nose' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Now it's at the body shop and I'm finally changing the side skirts to the proper MK-II and getting my new wheels.

[QUOTE=Kalashnikov;10864726]The only variable you are changing with Victor wheels is off-set.

I'd rather not use spacers and I need to use my original tires.

Just double check!.from the factory the rears are 65 et, remember the lower the number the farther the wheel will stick out towards the inner wheel well, those lower numbers 45,47 etc are wide body fitments, mine are 65et in the rear and i didnt use spacers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm still not sure I understand, but as long as someone smarter than me understands and confirms, that's great.
I'm going to order my new wheels soon, maybe tomorrow.
On the Victor Equipment site it looks as if there is only one option of offset for the Innsbruck wheels I want.
Will 18x8 45 and 18x10 50 work on my 2003 NB 996?
My original wheels are 18x8 50 and 18x10 65.

Yes they will work.

The only variable you are changing with Victor wheels is off-set. Off-set is distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. With your new wheels you are just decreasing the positive off-set and moving wheel position outward.

Great, thank you!!!
10 by 50mm offset is your wheels in picture sticking out by 15mm(people use spacers and I see quite a few people with that set up)
10.5 by 55mm offset will stick out 17mm or so more than your current BUT the tires will look ever so slightly stretched than on a 10 wide wheel
I'd rather not use spacers and I need to use my original tires.
Is there anyway I can know for sure what wheels will work best? This is confusing to me.
I'm pretty good with cars even tho I sound like I have no clue. It's the offset thing that confuses me.
God, I went through the same agony before I bought. My advice is to figure out where you are buying from and call. Tell them what tires you are going to use and let them size you correctly.
One of the few times I agree with KK. And might I add one of the lightest factory Porsche wheel as well. I need to peek out to see if there is a full moon out tonight or something...
Ha ha, I like the look of the Innsbruck. I think the original are nothing special. I'll keep them around but I think these new wheels are much more updated.
Also doing some more digging, 15mm is just over 1/2 inch. I think I'll be ok, but I'm going to call the store anyway so I feel better.

by the way i just realized! are we talking 19 inch, because if we are, then in my opinion thats a mistake, the car was designed for 18s, plenty to read up about that! and one more reason to consider the pros and cons,if you plan on entering a local porsche club driving event or other function that will let you explore the limits of your car, then correct wheel and tire sizes are a must,
My car came with 18's and I'm staying with 18's.
I want them as close to factory as possible. If they were offered in the factory 50 and 65 I'd gladly take those. I believe these are only offered in the 45 and 50.
Swede...your tires don't run at all? They handle and ride well?
Definitely do not wanna go below 50 out back on a 10" wide rim or people are gonna think you are on turbo fitment. Plus you might run into rubbing issues unless you do some crazy vwaudigaudi camber angles.
I just spoke to someone at Discount Tire Direct where I'm getting these and he said that the 45 offset in the front and the 50 offset in back will fit perfectly.
Phew...
Why do I stress over this sh$t.
Yeah those are perfect and the most absolute aggressive you can go on a NB without any poke/extreme camber/fender rolling. They will look great.
I think you better go see a doctor now to make sure you don't have any ulcers.
Norcoastal, you need to go and adopt the GTL routine for a few months to stop this worrying. Not even Snooky will give you any poon with this much worry
FYI, the lower you go the camber gets aggressive and the tires will tuck. With widebody wheels on my car they stuck waaay out at stock ride height. After lowering the car, they tuck nicely. I rolled the rear fenders for safety, but it wasn't 100% necessary. Zero rubbing.
The narrow body cars can fit a fairly wide wheel. The stigma that wide wheels don't fit a nb needs to die.
It's actually an interesting story. When I bought the car it had a GT-2 front bumper and MK-I side skirts.
I thought that the bumper looked rediculous on my car so I took it off and bought and original bumper. To my dismay, the PO apparently had an accident and replaced the entire nose with GT-2 parts, meaning radiators and AC compressors.
The original or standard nose was too small to go over the big radiators so I had no choice to buy a turbo nose.
Now it's at the body shop and I'm finally changing the side skirts to the proper MK-II and getting my new wheels.
Here's what it looked like when I brought it home. Sort of a Frankenstein car.
Oh I have plenty of worry. I lost my job a few months back and can't seem to find a job in my chosen profession. Had to sell my house and now I'm looking for anything.
Thank god my wife works and makes a good living.
No, sitting home Reading Rennlist gets me no poon
Man, you must have an understanding wife if she's letting you buy wheels and you're not working. Kudos for finding a gem(either that or kudo's on looking like Brad sPitt so you don't have to, lol
).
