I have Motive bleeder but I’ve read on Stoptech.com that they don’t recommend using power bleeders because they introduce air in the brake fluid.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$44.95 - That is an AWESOME price. Ordered, shipped same day...here in 2 days. Love it. Thumbs high to Colin and the gang at CDOC. C.

POST 2Original post

Is this a Motive-type pressure bleeder or something different? Link or pic?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not "Motive-type" the actual Motive pressure bleeder. Check out their site: http://www.cdoc.com C

POST 4Original post

Dang, I spent about $15 more than that couple years ago when I bought mine.

POST 5Original post

I don't see anything on the site for that price when I search for motive power bleeder. Am I missing something?

POST 7Original post

I have Motive bleeder but I’ve read on Stoptech.com that they don’t recommend using power bleeders because they introduce air in the brake fluid. Follow the link to the right way? http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...edbrakes.shtml

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just read your link. Where does it say on their site not to use a power bleeder? When using a bleeder you should never go above 12 psi on the system. These have been used for years. When used properly , they work VERY well. Send more substantial evidence before submitting an opinion. If you do not put enough fluid in the bleeder, I agree with your submittal. The key is to manage the fluid properly. And FWIW - automotive factories use pressurized systems to fill the brake systems. This is nothing new. C.

I wasnt submitting an opinion, just information; Stoptechs recommended right way. See Pressure bleeding dos and donts under the following link. http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...fluid_1a.shtml

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nothing personal...seriously. but, even StopTech's information seems a bit flawed. The amount of pressure required to force air into brake fluid is immense. I highly doubt 10-12psi of air pressure causes the air molecules to be forced into a liquid. I need more data in order to formulate a proper conclusion. Call me ****... C.
