I've used Zaino since 1999 and really love the results.

I used Zymol Concours and they have the same shine.

The ease of use (literally took 30 minutes to apply and remove to my wife's 3 series) means you can easily apply it often so durability is not all that important.

Why is it every time I parked my old car someone would walk up and ask me how I liked the clear film I used before the rear wheel and on the rear rockers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I prefer any of the Carnauba waxes and use Meguiars. I have never tried RejeX so I can't comment on it But as far as waxes go. Meguiars is great and cleans up nice.
it boggles me why people still use those 80s style leather bras (color matched / black regardless)...
the clear ones are just so much more convient, and they are invisible also.
It is very simple grasshopper.
Removable front covers are superior in what they are designed to do, which is to protect the front of a car from being hit by road debris.
The shortcomings of the clear films are many, and are usually excused by being "easy". But I'm not commenting on this to dis the clear films. They do have their place on a car, most notably in protecting rocker panels and the lower part of fender flairs. I have applied the clear films to those areas of my car with acceptable results. In these applications it is not as important that they will soon look ratty after taking the debris impacts, What I want to do is to protect the paint.
Being easy, does not always translate into being better.
Why is it that any time any one ask about "waxes" there is a Rejex pile on?
NXT vs. others.
I have used NXT. Very easy application and removal. Non-dusting type of product. Not finicky at all about what you put it over (i.e., oils, fillers, glazes, waxes, etc. which are found in many polishes). Usually has a very slight darkening effect to the color depending on what color you use it on. It has a very nice natural glow and sort of "wet" look on certain colors. Very easy to get. Also has some ability to fill some swirls (very minor ones). Now the down side.....I found the durability to be very poor. Have not been able to get more than a couple of weeks out of the water beading. Great looking product but in my experiences it performs like a carnauba wax and not a synthetic. That said I know of some others who have gotten 2-3 months durability (I have never come close).
The ease of use (literally took 30 minutes to apply and remove to my wife's 3 series) means you can easily apply it often so durability is not all that important. For the same durability I really like the P21S carnauba wax better on metallics (seems to really make them "pop").
If durability is what you are after you can't go wrong with Zaino. Easily 6 months and much longer if you use the Z6 occassionally after a wash and/or use the Z7 car wash soap with it (one of my favorites). Problems...very non-forgiving. Beads like no other product with incredible slickness. If you have defects in your paint they are almost amplified. Does not fill or cover any swirls or scratches (Z5 doesn't either). Has a very "sterile" glossy shiney look some discribe it as a plasticy look on certain colors with not lots of depth to the look. Looks great on lighter colored cars (i.e. silvers, yellows whites, etc.). Some people love it some hate it...you just have to try it. For durability and protection though there isn't much out there that even compares.
Rejex is a similar product to Zaino. I have started experimenting with it. Some on this board swear by it. I am sold yet. So far I don't see any advantages over Zaino. I have not used it long enough to comment on the durability. It hides absolutely nothing (like zaino) so prep of the surface is very important. It also has a very sterile, glossy sort of shine. There really isn't any depth to it (but then I am currently experimenting on a silver which doesn't have much depth).
My favorite combo right now on my wife's black 3 series is the Einszett products. Extremely easy to use and durability has been great also (I haven't used it long enough to see how it compares to Zaino). They also came out with a new Quick Detailer that is very similar to Z6 (which was my favorite) that really boost the look of the Glanz Wax (synthetic wax).
Of my favorite products that is how they compare to NXT. If you have any other specifics let us know. Detailing is a hobby. I like to experiment with different products. Check out Autopia for an unbelievable amount of info on just about any detailing product.
I just got Meguiars NXT and it's the most amazing wax i have ever used. It get's rid of all the swirls marks and fine scratches. With dark colors it looks like you can put your hand in the body.
I used Zymol Concours and they have the same shine.
Meguiars NXT uses Synthetic Polymers which is the same technology used in Rejex.
My problem with Rejex is that it's just a coating...it doesn't do anything for the paint.
I have found that you can get PS21 under the S100 brand at your local Harley Davidson store for about $10. As waxes go, it provides a very nice surface.
S100 and Ps21 are similar. I use Wolfgang sealant. You can purchase it online at Autogeek. It last long, and its reflection is comparable to pure cannauba. It dose not streak like most sealants. It does require prep work like a P21 polish or you can use the matching product. It goes on easy and wipe off easy. No wait time or difficulty in buffing. You can put on some P21s wax on top to make it really shine. If you're looking for a cleaner sealant I recomend Klasse.
Not to revive an old post but I just ordered some Rejex to try out on my cars. I used to use Klasse and then put some P21s wax over it. I remember reading somewhere that P21s doesn't have some additive that would strip off the Klasse. Do you guys think that I can put the P21S over the Rejex without stripping the Rejex? I used to do that with Klasse with great results.

"the clear ones are just so much more convient, and they are invisible also."
Why is it every time I parked my old car someone would walk up and ask me how I liked the clear film I used before the rear wheel and on the rear rockers. Anyone who appreciates cars can spot these films a mile away. But, they always miss the few paint chips.
It's P21S to set the record straight.
It's the best I've used in 40 years of waxing cars.
Moogle..don't let the bra' boggle' your mind.
When mine is off, the car looks showroom new and I love that. It's only on for 'highway' runs or the track.
When I see an " invisible" line across someones hood I don't try and figure out how they can possibly stand it.
To each his or her own.

The cleaning properties of P21S are minimal at best. You should have no trouble using it over Rejex and it should not strip it. Of the carnauba waxes (that are reasonably priced) P21S is almost impossible to beat. The ease of application alone makes it one of the best products on the market.
Glazes usually just fill swirls so you don't see them for a little while. To remove swirls you need a fine cut compound or one of the more aggresive polishes.
Blaine996,
In general a "glaze" does not get rid of swirl marks, instead it hides them by "filling" them. NXT has cleaning abilities and very likely will remove most glazes. To get rid of swirl marks you need to use a fine abrasive product like a "polish". That said some manufacturers confuse things by using the term "glaze" in the name of product when in fact it is a polish (i.e. Meg's "Speed Glaze" and 3M's PI-III "Machine Glaze" are actually abrasive polishes).
Recently I have begun using Menzerna FMJ which is a polymer. The attached photo is my C4S done with Klasse All In One and P21S. The problem is that here in Florida the wax melts quickly. The new polymers do not melt and they do not attract dust the way wax does.
I have only used Menzerna FMJ for the last month. I polished the car with Menzerna Final, then I applied their glaze. I then put on two coats of FMJ. So far the car looks very good and it seems to be holding up. I wash the car every other day.
Having tried Zymol, Zaino and Rejex, I've settled on Zaino. All three are fine products, but my experience has been that Zaino is more durable than Rejex, or at least no less durable.
Frankly, after spending a bunch of time applying polish to the car, the last thing I want to do is park it for 12 hours so the Rejex can "cure".
OKAY, It's time to stir the pot.... I use a product called Collinite Fiberglass Boat Wax aka: Collinite Insulator Wax. No cleaners, no silicone and it lasts and lasts. The surface feels awesome and looks super. Good enough to be competitive in PCA national concours competition. And, it costs $12.95 and is available at any boat supply store.
I have started using NTX after Meguiars sent me samples. Its great. Personally, i find their Gold Class Wax to be a little more reflective. On the other hand, the NTX lasts longer and removes/applies quicker, so i prefer it on my daily car. Oh, and it smells good.
Wax alone WILL not make your car shiny. Its a protective step. For swirls and such, you should use a mildy abbrasive paint cleaner or similar. Between that and polishes, you shouldn't have any problems with swirls. If a scratch remains, its probably too deep for such light removal products. Try a rubbing compund or Scratch-X or something similar.
For a DEEP intense shine, you must use a straight polish. At the moment i prefer Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish. I found it looks better (to me) than most others ive tried. Add a couple coats if you like too. Deeper the better right?
Wax protects that awesome shine. Since NTX and other polymer waxes just arent as reflective, you might want to try throwing a carnauba wax on there too. The Pinnacle Souveran stuff is wild. It wont last long though, so enjoy its shine quick! You want a mega shine, throw a coat of this on in addition to what you use.
Souveran Carnauba
Oh yeah, do your wheels the same way if they are painted! And if you are at a show or somewhere, clean em' up real quick and then hit them with Quick Detailer! Reflective wheels aren't just for the blingin' chrome!
What's the point of metallic paint if it doesn't blow you mind with shine????
Thanks. It's a testament to knowledge of products and cleaning in my opinion. (do what works!) 13 year old original paint and it was a daily driver for the first 2 owners and the bodywork still feels like silk.
You're welcome, it really is a beauty! All Porsche's (especially those taken care of like yours) are a pleasure to drool over.
I have a 1981 280ZX that we (actually my father when I was 10) bought in the summer of 81 that has 60K miles on it now and looks like (well almost like) your 944. Have totally babied that car and get plenty of compliments. Sometimes I think I put more TLC into the 81 Z than the 996 (but please don't tell the 996
)
Something about a timeless sportscar.
Yeah, i love to see older original cars that have really been taken car of, specially if they are driven!
Our cars will be quite a sight when everything is sooo different in 30 years!
