Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

While at the seattle auto show, I checked out the new 2005 turbo s.. although nice, at $151k for a base model cab ($180k fully loaded) with the older body style now depreciating like crazy... i'm wondering how many of these they expect to sell.... how many are they supposed to make for 2005? They look nice and all, no exterior or interior differences in the 2005 turbo s model vs the standard 2004 turbo, simply ceramic brakes standard and the x-package... all old previous year options.. but the price does seem a bit excessive still, considering the new body style is out and all.. atleast some kind of exterior distinction would be nice at least as was offered with the 993 turbo s side opening... but looks the same to me... besides moogle, has anyone been considering one of these or getting one vs a fully loaded 997s or waiting for the turbo 997?

POST 2Original post

well, heres my answers (whether you like it or not ) i believe the turbo S is a one year model run, a closing run for the 996 turbo generation. limited to total 500 worldwide (dealer info, who knows, those weasels say anything to sell). i got it because i was looking for a turbo anyway, and it happened to coincide with the press release, been waiting 6 months now. if one is considering a new turbo, its a fairly good 'value' versus the other turbo model years, because it includes 30k of options for only a 10k premium (PCCB/X50). plus you get the S, which will probably help resale, to what extent, time will tell. but probably not much realistically due to overproduction of the base turbo 996.

POST 3Original post

Base was $129k on the 04 and X50 was $18k while the ceramics were $8k. So the price actually dropped at $151k given the same car in 04 was $155k.

POST 4Original post

I could see waiting for a 997 TT, but I would not take a NA 997 (any variant) over a TT, it simply can't compare. I do think the '05 Turbo is is a good package, if they start discounting them I will be sorely tempted.

POST 5Original post

DJ 996 hit the nail on the head. 997 vs TT IT SIMPLY CAN'T COMPARE!!

POST 7Original post

Just bought one for the Boss. It arrives in 2 weeks $160K,

POST 8Original post

Additionally, the base price is 141, not 151...

POST 9Original post

1. Get the Turbo S. 2. Jump in the '00 and take I-45 N. Fly home. 3. Try and control your smile.
