Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I know the general feeling on fiberglass body parts but, my rear bumper has some damage and rather than repair and repaint, I would like to upgrade the rear bumper. The only problem is, the bumper I want is made in fiberglass only. How big a deal is it for the rear bumper to be fiberglass?

POST 3Original post

Haven't you seen all the ricers going down the road with their bumpers and side skirts flopping in the wind? That is enough for me not to buy it...

obviously cheap replicas they've bought then F/g at the proper thickness is as strong as your OE bumper....They make whole cars in it don't they?...look at the TVR and they last years http://www.brutusbodystyling.co.uk

POST 5Original post

Rear bumper fiberglass is no big deal. It's the front that has to be poly.

POST 6Original post

Is this a track car? If so, go for it unless it is prohibited by class rules. If it is for your street car, "many" of the fiberglass parts require loads of prep time to get them to street car standards, and then all you need is one little tap on the bumper and you will experience damage. No way in hell I would put fiberglass on a street car. It is not like you need the slight weight savings for street use considering the down sides, and the cost would likely end up close given the necessary prep time.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This is only street. I can prep with the best so that's not a big deal. Cracking is though.
