I have removed all my rear insulation behind the rear seats and replaced with thin black carpet, so that had already improved the interior sound a lot.

Just put the 3.6 mufflers on my '99, weekend before last, with the MKII mod with 2 1/4" pipe, and I can give yet another "thumbs up" review- excellent!! It was a little more subtle than I expected, but fantastic nonetheless. Still quiet at low RPM's, really doesn't come into it's own, until 3500rpm and up. No drone whatsoever. I have removed all my rear insulation behind the rear seats and replaced with thin black carpet, so that had already improved the interior sound a lot. The modded 3.6's made it pretty close to perfect! If anyone is mulling this over- go for it! I found a used set of 3.6 mufflers for $75, and paid $90 to have a shop cut and weld. Total bargain! Might as well remove the radio- I'll never use it now........
