Serviced at local Porsche dealership with 2nd owner - I spoke to service manager who reviewed the records and found only replaced generator, swaybar links, oil filler tube, fixed remote door problem, and normal maintenance (60k service done).

^ Assuming good PPI, the deal I think I'm going to shoot them is my G25 plus $1,000 and they repaint bumper and roof, replace wheel caps and include a 2-year, 24k mi warranty.

if you can do a straight trade, i'd do it and then spend some money on an after market warranty, or set aside some money for any unexpected repairs.

The basic info: 1999 C2 coupe, lightly optioned, guards red, 71,200k miles, 2- owner car purchased in Florida and kept almost 5 years by first owner then brought to my hometown and purchased by 2nd owner with 48,000 miles and traded in for new BMW. Serviced at local Porsche dealership with 2nd owner - I spoke to service manager who reviewed the records and found only replaced generator, swaybar links, oil filler tube, fixed remote door problem, and normal maintenance (60k service done). I didn't see any leaks. Problems: cosmetic paint problems on rear bumber and along edges of roofline, minor scratches on front bumper, curb rash on 3 of 4 wheels, faded paint on plastic on lower windshied and wipers. Interior in good but not excellent condition. Asking price is $24,900. Dealer willing to repaint back bumper and roof, replace wheel caps and sell for $23,500. Will sell as is for $22,500. Deal is contingent upon PPI at local Porsche dealer at my expense. Dealer may be willing to do straight trade with my 2004 G35 coupe (all options but Nav) that I paid $24,000 for 4 months ago. Sorry this so long, but what do you think?

if the PPI comes back fine, i'd say take it. if you can do a straight trade, i'd do it and then spend some money on an after market warranty, or set aside some money for any unexpected repairs.

The car has been on their lot for 110 days and the used car mgr admitted to me it would be alot easier to sell my car than the P-car. My only drawback is the car is rougher than I imagined my P-car would be. Maybe with the paint and a detail, it will take shape.

I would definitely go with the trade...straight-up or otherwise. The convenience alone is well worth the deal, not to mention getting a Porsche for an Infinity of comparable age.
