Suggestion
If what the dealer told me was true, then if you adjust a "normal" Bilstein PSS-9 kit to the same specs then it should behave the same way.

Suggestion
the is no possible way at all, identifying the specs of the shocks absorbers...i.e valving specs...but there might be a possibility of findind out the spring rates of the suspension....i.e from my point of view there is no possible way adjusting a PSS9 bilstein kit to RUF's specs....

Suggestion
The shocks might be the same or have a different valving, but spring rates is what really changes ride.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Anyone have any experience with the RUF kit? Or, with driving a RUF car?
How does it compare with the ROW M030?
Would it be acceptable as a daily driver?
I don't have experience with the Ruf Suspension Kit but for what it's worth, the Ruf Suspension Kit is nothing but a re-branded Bilstein PSS-9 kit "tuned to Ruf's specifications."
the fact that the nRUF suspension is a re-branded bilstein kit doesn't mean that it will behave as a typical bilstein kit...
diffferent spec means different kit to me.......
My friend installed the RUF RGT suspension on his 99 996. The suspension was an take off from a RUF RGT.
I had a ride with him driving both on track and a little bit around the paddock.
The suspension was very stiff. Much stiffer than my PSS-9.
Its not for daily driving but great for track events.

No, what I am saying is I inquired about the kit from the Ruf authorized dealer for North America and was told that the kit is a re-branded Bilstein PSS-9 kit. The PSS-9 kit is adjustable. The Ruf kit is a PSS-9 kit that has been adjusted to Ruf's specs.
If what the dealer told me was true, then if you adjust a "normal" Bilstein PSS-9 kit to the same specs then it should behave the same way.
The RGT is more like a GT3 cup suspension so that may be the reason why its so stiff. I'm not sure, but I think Ruf has a couple of different suspension systems so there might be one that is more street friendly. Go call RUF USA in Texas to get more info if there are different kits. As far as saying that they are the same as the PSS9 go and check the differences in spring rate as there may be a difference. The shocks might be the same or have a different valving, but spring rates is what really changes ride. Get the info and compare the spring rates as adjustable shocks could alway be set soft for ride.
try to copy RUF's suspension kit will only lead to find out what alignment specs RUF uses...

so what will be the difference?
you will have to buy a PSS( kit without the springs.....buy the springs from RUF, and then spend hours to configure the combination to achievs RUF's specs.....
I never said the pss9 were the same as the Ruf kits. I really think there is some differences in the spring rates and might be in the valving. Fascinized if you want a RUF kit I would suggest that you talk to them and get an idea of the spring rates they use. Then read up on the PCA article on the M030 so you can get a point of reference on how stiff the RUF might be. IMO the M030 is great riding, but is a bit too soft for the track. I usually only do 4-5 weekends on the track and I also have my old 930 so I wanted a daily driver suspension for the 996. Look up the Panorama article at PCA.org
I saw the panorama article. It makes me realize how complicated it can be to modify suspensions.
That's why I figured the Ruf guys might be a good alternative to me trying to re-engineer my car's suspension on my own. I figure their expertise could help in finding a good balance between ride and handling, oversteer and understeer, etc., even if it is just a matter of alignment specs and PSS9 settings. (though a very expensive way to get their opinion, its roughly twice the price of the PSS9's direct from Bilstein)
I was curious to know if anyone has first hand experience driving a Ruf car though. I figure it still might be worth it because I wouldn't have the time to find the combination of settings that worked best. Does anyone have experience driving Ruf cars?
By the way, the kit comes with 8 springs.
