- to clarify...wipe on, let dry (let dry takes like 2 minutes) wipe of..this has to be the easiest wax I have ever used, quick to haze up, easy as hell to wipe off...works excellent, lasts LONG TIME

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1319750317 Some before and after phone pics of my Porsche wheels while removing my summer tires for the 4 Blizzaks I'll be driving on till next spring.

POST 2Original post

I like to give my brake calipers a good cleaning too when the wheels are off...

POST 3Original post

just did the same thing, but my snows are mounted on gt3 wheels. in addition to cleaning the calipers as mentioned above, put a coat of wax on the rims. they will be happy for the winter!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I love the 18" GT3 wheels...show me a pic vange_c4s.

POST 5Original post

hi barn996, well it is dark and snowing here so this is the best i can do for now. (ps i like my pumpkins)

POST 6Original post

Barn - are you good with the Blizzak's? I run the Pirelli snow sports on the C2 but Tirerack.com only has the Blizzak's. I was ready to order them this morning but had 2nd thoughts. Vange - love the GT3 wheels - safe to assume they are a pricey item? Need to decide for this winter - either use the stock turbo twists for winter and shop for another set of wheels in the spring - or buy a set of lower priced OZ wheels for winter from tirerack. If I keep this up I'll either be living in the street or wishing the P-car came with a bathroom. Anyone want to buy a Harley? or an Oldsmobile? How about a couple of older but reliable Ford trucks? Maybe adopt a child or two or three? Or just the one in college?

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 8979657

Are those gt3 replica wheels?

POST 8Original post

Snow tires on yesterday. Hard top goes on this weekend. Just in time...I heard possible 2-4 inches tomorrow.

POST 9Original post

Barn, put a couple coats of RejeX wax on your clean wheels. The dirt will fly off with hot soapy water next time. No wheel cleaner needed. Bumperplugs has good pricing on RejeX wax.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Silotwo- yes Blizzaks and they perform well in the snow. Vange- I don't mind the pumkins at all. No HTwo O- Good idea on the RejeX, I'll have to try that.

POST 11Original post

RejeX looks like a liquid wax..is it a spray on? Do you do anything different when applying to wheels?

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 8980235

Liquid wax. Wipe on, let dry, whip off. There is a "cure" time of 12-24 hours (approx.) depending on the temp/humidity. Mainly, this means to keep the car away from sunlight, heat and rain, till fully cured.

POST 13Original post

Hmmm. I am going to try to get another week out of mine. Temperatures look a bit cool, but no snow in the forecast.

POST 14Original post

I got my snows on about 2 weekends ago (rule here is October 15 to May 15) but no snow yet! Although I'm up in the Great White North, sounds like some of my American neighbours already have the white stuff on the ground... Great job on cleaning the wheels, BTW. Just out of curiosity, what products do you (Barn and Dennis) use to clean your wheels and calipers?

POST 15Original post

GT3 wheels for winter...someone has too much money!!! Rejex is the stuff!! - to clarify...wipe on, let dry (let dry takes like 2 minutes) wipe of..this has to be the easiest wax I have ever used, quick to haze up, easy as hell to wipe off...works excellent, lasts LONG TIME

POST 16Original post

I clean my wheels and calipers with soap and water. Nothing harsh. I apply a coat of wax to the wheels and the calipers after they are clean. I haven't tried Rejex, but it sounds good. Also - I'm running Blizzaks too. They have been very good.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I used a little simple green and lots of water, a stiff wheel brush, and a very fine steel wool to get out the stubborn brake dust. I just use a few clean rags to do my calipers. Sounds like Rejex is the right solution after a good cleaning.

POST 18Original post

Thanks Barn and Dennis - as soon as Tirerack returns my call they will be ordered - or I will just place the order on-line - wanted to give Damon a shot at the sale. Calling for 6 to 10 inches of snow tomorrow here in NE PA - I'll believe it when I see it - but I guess tonight I'll be swapping to winters on the C2 - just in case.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We got a dusting last night, but 'they' say snow is on the way for Sat.We'll see...

POST 20Original post

Rejex is awesome, for wheels, AND for paint! Lasts forever, and easy to use by hand. I bought my last bottle from an Airplane supply online catalog place, and now I am always getting emails with plane maintenance product offers!

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Where does a person find Rejex...I don't plan on flying a plane anytime soon.

POST 22Original post

hello everyone, well i purchased my replica gt3 wheels from a friend at work who gave me a great deal, and i appreciate it. so no, not the real thing but very nice none the less. i have not used RejeX so cannot comment. i may get laughed at but i have used a product called nu finish. no kidding - get it anywhere. inexpensive. not affiliated with product. works well. you might be suprised. i think any (never existant) extra funding goes to suspension!!

POST 23Original post

Tires and wheels mounted and balanced - Ordered from Damon at tirerack this afternoon and shipping already confirmed! Great service! Thanks Damon.

POST 25Original post

Quotes source post: 8982454

4 Blizzaks, 4 sport cup wheels which are the tirerack brand, and 4 tire totes that I use for storing between seasons. A few bucks under $1700 mounted, balance and shipped.

POST 26Original post

Well - after a really bad snow fall with lots of trees down and power widespread power outages, I finally got around to putting the winter tires on the C2, had to clear a huge tree limb and branches from the driveway first. Really lucky as the limb, which looked as big as freakin' tree, fell about 2 feet behind my Olds, no damage luckily. Of course the siblings were safe in the garage. Fortunately I had cleaned and waxed the wheels before I put them in storage this spring, that was a huge bonus. Cleaned the calipers and the fender well plastic, wire brushed the hubs, installed the tires, cleaned up, and still had time for a really fun little joy ride. Air temp is 29F here and the grip of the winter rubber is a wonderful feeling. Happy Motoring
