Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So if your 996 is a dual-use DD/DE car, you need to find a solution that works reasonably well for both environments.

Suggestion
On the website for the bar it states you can still use the stock seatbelt, even though the pic shows no seatbelt.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It doesn't take long to figure out that stock seats and seatbelts aren't adequate on the track. Hanging on to the steering wheel thru the turn is a nogo. The way to solve it is nice seats that can have bigger bolsters, and holes for a 5-6pt harness. The shoulder straps need to go back roughly horizontally, so you need a harness guide bar.
So if your 996 is a dual-use DD/DE car, you need to find a solution that works reasonably well for both environments.
It's hard to find seats that will work on the track, will also fit in the narrow confines of the cockpit, and pitch forward for access to the rear seats. And now that I'm retiring the 996 from the track, I'm selling the seats, harness guide bar and camera mount.
Everything is 6 months old and was used only once or twice/week.
Seats:
Corbeau A4 (narrow) Black Leather. Factory hole in seat for anti-sub strap. $499 +$50 for anti-sub hole. Mounts (fit 996 and Boxster).

The "narrow" seats fit my 32" waist with plenty of room. A 36" waist would be fine. A 38" might not be fine.
Seats $499
Anti-sub hole $50
Mounts $99
Total new price two seats $1296
I'll sell for $850 + shipping
Harness Guide Bar. Sold.

On the website for the bar it states you can still use the stock seatbelt, even though the pic shows no seatbelt. Is that correct? If so, I'd be interested in the bar and camera mount if you can get them to me before next weekend (I'm in Houston)
.
Yes, the OEM seatbelt can stay in place with the Harness Guide Bar. That's how I ran mine, so that the car would remain street legal when the guide bar was in place. It can be removed in about 15min, so if the car wasn't going to the track for a couple weeks, I'd remove the bar so the kids could sit in the back.
UFO007, if you pay via Paypal today ([email removed]), I'll have it in the mail on Saturday. It will get to you in time easily. But if you have to mail a check, you'd have to overnight it today. I'd get the check on Monday and then ship it out Tue. That would make arrival in Houston on Friday only a "maybe".
OK, let me know a total price including shipping and I'll get it taken care of. Or, if you prefer, I can PP you the total for the items now and then PP you actual shipping costs after they ship.
It's a shame the seats aren't grey as I might have taken them too!
$160. That allows for $20 for shipping. We can settle up on shipping one way or another after the fact.
Black leather in a gray interior...nice contrasting look. Then pickup some black rear seats on Ebay....Be the envy of everyone you know. Guys would be bringing their trophy wives around just to see your car. Couples would be naming their children after you. Stamps with "UFO007" on them.
I should interject here: I bought the harness bar and camera mount from Ranger. Transaction went very smoothly and the goods got here in super quick fashion. Ranger did everything he said he would do and I was pleased with the transaction.
