Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Question for the masses: my hazard light button on the dash has never worked. The button seems like it's been shoved in too far and it won't turn on or off. It LOOKS fine, so I've been reluctant to mess with it much for fear that the button will fall off and leave me with a worse problem. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know what to do? TIA!

I don't think you'll have too much of a problem with it falling off as it's a bit of a pain in the **** to remove in the first place. The red plastic bit, however, is just a cover held on by 2 plastic tabs and should take about 5 minutes to remove at most and might give you some insight to the underlying problem.

POST 3Original post

The button has a notch in the side that allows it to be pried off the switch post. You might be able to use some tape or something to pull the button out far enough to do this, and then inspect the switch operation once you have the button off. The switches usually get destroyed during the process of removing the instrument cluster. You can buy a new one for about $50.
