Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yesterday I put some fuel stabilizer in and ran thru most of it with no problem.

+1 sounds like the easy answer is to check the gas cap.

Check that gas and oil filler caps are tight, then disconnect the battery for two minutes ( make sure you have your radio codes ) - that usually clears it.

If the car is running ok, I'd wait a week or so to see if the light goes away.

Best way is to either go to the dealer itself to get the reading off the DME or find someone with the Durametric tool who can run a similar reading, and if necessary erase the code.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Drove 250+ miles today to the hocking hills. Jennifer ran out to fill it with Sunoco premium and the check engie go to dealer prompts are on.

Thoughts ?
Thanks,
Gregg
I have seen other non-P cars have CEL's that will stay on for a half dozen "cycles" (turn engine on, drive, turn engine off) after the problem has disappeared. If the car is running ok, I'd wait a week or so to see if the light goes away. YMMV
Quick way to be certain is to borrow a code reader. Many auto parts stores will let lend you one gratis - just call them first to confirm they do that sort of thing. I was shocked to see how nice of a code reader they let my father-in-law use last week.
Greg
You make her put gas in the car? What is it they say, "***, gas or grass, nobody rides for free". You're a poofter.

Tim,
Any guy who can get his hot blonde(Susan) girlfriend to sleep with him in a enclosed trailer on a 45 degree night with his dad and kids inside and his buddies next door gets some leeway. John how did she handle the walk of shame to the ladies room ?
Thanks for the tips re: the engine light.
John I was paying for the gas !
Tim
Greg deserves some abuse. God knows he gives it, I am sure he can take it. After all, he is a lawyer. BTW, if you knew Jennifer, you'd know he obviously has his priorities all screwed up.
Best way is to either go to the dealer itself to get the reading off the DME or find someone with the Durametric tool who can run a similar reading, and if necessary erase the code. But you will need someone to analyse what the code actually means....
I have so many CELs going off from time to time that the investment in the Durametrics tool provides me with peace of mind and a quick way to get rid of the darn CEL whenever it unnecessarily raises its ugly head.
