Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

- I paid $2k for used seats, $800 for a used DAS rollbar, $300 or so for sub bars and BK lowering mounts on the driver's side, and about $200 for new G-Force harnesses, so about half what you're looking at.
Leading evidence: 'Use seats, $800' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use on the street' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Suggestion
Incidentally, you don't want a roll cage at all on a car you'll use on the street.

It's only 15-18 days a year that I get to use these anyway!!!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2002 C4S that I track 6-7 times a year. Fabspeed exhaust, sport shifter and some Hoosier racing tires are my only modifications. I've found myself sliding all around the car on the track and would like to get more supportive seats.
Do I have to have the roll cage installed to get the GT3 style seats?
Has anyone seen a good Savannah Beige version of the GT3 seats?
Is there a good one stop shop for this kind of stuff online?
I'm debating one vs. two seats - and the permanent versus track weekend only option. If I add one only for track days, does that mean I will still need the roll cage to install the 6 point harness - or can I get considerably better support with a sport seat and the standard belts in a seat that I can remove?
In my original research, it looks to me like two Savannah Beige GT3 seats, 6 point harnesses (with some sort of required bar) and a roll cage will be about $5-6K total. I would love to spend less than that to get a really good solution.

There is a very similar thread running in the 997 forum at the moment which is probably worth reading, and a thread on one vs two race seats in the Racing & DE forum.
- You don't need a roll cage or a rollbar to install GT3 seats. Incidentally, you don't want a roll cage at all on a car you'll use on the street.
- If you're fussy about the seat colours, it'll cost you. If you can make do with black seats, then the going rate online is $2000ish for a pair.
- CDOC.com does everything, but you'll be paying new prices.
- The GT3 seats give a lot more support even without a harness, though clearly you'll be giving up some safety. If you don't want a rollbar, you might consider a BK harness bar.

Buy Billy's DAS bar - he welded in the higher harness bar it needs, and told me how to do mine.
