Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was looking at a Carrera today the Dealer is selling as a 2000 year model. Yet the door plate date of manufacture clearly reads it was made on 12/99. So which is it? Is this common practice if it wasn't titled untill 2000? Or whats the cut off month/ confused.
The model year has nothing to do with the year the car was made or titled. The next model year cars usually show up in the fall. A 2000 could have been made maybe as early as September 99. Maybe earlier. Sometimes for some manufacturers, the next year cars show up in the early spring!
A manufacture date of 12/99 makes it a MY2000 (model year). A 2000 build date would make a car a MY2001. The manufacture date is usually the preceding year. the cutoff period varies per manufacturer.

New products are previewed during LA and then finally NAIAS in January. Full releases (for the US) vary depending on the manufacturer. Example: Mitsubishi's new Evo is to be released Jan/Feb '08 while Nissan's new GT-R is due late Spring.
A LOT has to do with production schedules and potential problems during production. Particularly for completely new models. The Evo is a GREAT example of this. Mitsubishi just found problems with the new DSG tranny and had to delay the production of them for the US market.
I work with this industry on Domestic and International Auto Shows. We are required to keep up to speed with them on new releases and production schedules.

Porsche typically begins production for the new model year after they shut down and retool during the month of August.
My car was built in April of 2001, I took delivery in June, it's a MY01.
Potentially. Presently working a deal with an English based manufacturer. The problem is...groups are starting to pull back from the Detroit Show due to their market segments. They are preferring LA and NY. Porsche has already pulled out.

It's appears that some cars built before the summer break are designated for the next MY. I bought a CPO '04 C4S this past spring and dealer provided me the following production history, which indicates the car was completed in July, 2003.
