I've noticed pictures of older GT3s with forward rakes and I'm wondering if I should set my PSS-9s this way.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, Can anybody comment on the performance effects of adjusting ride height where the front of the car sits lower than the rear? I've noticed pictures of older GT3s with forward rakes and I'm wondering if I should set my PSS-9s this way. Is anybody here planning on attending this Saturday's NW PCA AutoX #3? Looks like it's going to be a wet one! -Art

POST 2Original post

my 2 cents you need to corner balance your car at the ride height you are running with the PSS9 you can use Euro GT-3 ride height and suspension settings after that you are looking at fine tuning the dampers and the suspension setup (camber and caster are key here) also tire are esp. important in the wet (which if you run the Slush series is important) there are several shops on the east side that can help you - Fordhal is the suspension guru (and crew chief for AJR). just make sure he does the work -

POST 3Original post

From what I have always understood about the forward rake, atleast on the 993s, is that they should be about 1 degree down in the front. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but I think the rake down allows stability at speed as the front does not lift as much as it would with rake up. Also, I can imagine that with too much rake down you could cause high speed oversteer because of the aerodynamics. However, I do not think that our cars really develop enough downforce to cause that.
