Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If this is a new car, I'd say that is an outstanding--almost unbelievable--discount. It's below factory invoice (MSRP has about 13% profit), and even with the holdback (around $2K), it's probably below dealer cost. Could be Porsche is providing dealer incentives to move remaining 996 inventory before the 997 hit the shores.
Yup, new. Supposedly 6K below invoice. Gave me invoice, then said there was a 10K dealer incentive and asked what I tought'd be a fair profit. I said 4K and it was agreed.
If that is the case, welcome to the club. That is an outstanding deal on an outstanding car. I paid $90k for mine last December. Sounds like I should have waited!
You're getting a terrific deal, and the math on the invoice (MSRP less 13%) makes sense.
Not to nit pick, but if the dealer agreed to $4K profit, he should sell it to you for $2K less, because the $2K holdback is added to his profit.
great deal since i paid $81k 1 month ago--oh well sohuld have waited but I just couldn't wait any longer to drive my dream!!!!! The car is simply awesome it far surpasses my expectations!!!!!--

Sounds like an unbelievable deal. Any miles on the car? Any chance of damage somewhere along the way?
And yes, there really is no holdback for Porsche as there is on most other vehicles. The way PCNA handles it is that the dealer gets the 13% on the margin on profit, but the 2% points additional (there's about 15% in the car for the dealer) comes AFTER the satisfaction survey. Blow that, and lose the balance or part of it. Thereby the reason for the strongarm tactics so many pathetic dealers use to get you to sign an 'all 10' form beforehand.
Options: X99 - Natural Leather Code - PAG, M6K - Natural Grey Floor Mat, 692 - Remote CD Changer (6 Disc), C02 - U.S. Standard/Emissions, 425 - Rear Window Wiper, P15 - Comfort Seats w/Power Package, 680 - Bose High End Sound Package.
I don't care about the power seats, would probably prefer to delete the wiper (appearance), might like nav, and would really like rain sensing wipers (in Northwest).
I have not seen the car, as the dealer is about 100 miles away. It had been listed as new for a while on the dealer's website, is now listed as pre-owned with 20 miles, but sales agent insists it's new, but couldn't explain the web listing.
Still equivocating. Truly on the fence (keeping current wheels and waiting for 997 or E90 M3/M4). Unfortunately, I'm guessing there won't be deals to be had like this for some time to come. Some questions, if you all'd be so kind:
1. Coming from a 330Ci, where the back seats are tight but useable. As a point of reference, at 6'2" I can at least get in the back of the 330Ci, but not really the 911. Thoughts/comments appeciated...
2. Pretty minor point, but the rain sensing wipers can be retrofitted, without too much trouble?
Thanks.
The backseats are only good for kids. No adult would sit back there without complaining the whole time.
The rain sensing wipers are not much better than the intermittent ones in my opinion but they are not difficult to add later.
The problem with retrofitting the rain sensor is that you cannot adjust the "sensitivity" of the sensor like you could if it was stright from the factory. This has been the major complaint of those who have retrofitted the reain sensor.
The 20 miles on the odometer is normal.
Most Porsches have between 15 and 30 miles on them when shipped from the factory.
