Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

While waiting I used metal polish on the exhaust tips and cleaned the interior.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well on Friday I spent the afternoon detailing the car. Here were the steps I followed.
Washed car with Dawn to strip onld wax
Clay bar the entire car
Orbital polish with Porter Cable Polisher Giroits #2
Orbital polish with Porter Cable Polisher Giroits #3 (fine)
Orbital polish with Porter Cable Polisher Meguires Glaze
Hand apply Adams Butter Wax
Hand apply Rejex and allow to "cure" till today
I removed all product with Green microfiber towels. The paint is exceptionally smooth. Has increased my MPG by 12 due to the reduction in air friction.....just kidding.
Looks great but I don't think it will last as long as expected. From what I've been reading, you aren't supposed to apply Rejex over wax. The wax will wear off taking the Rejex with it. I spent some time on my car this weekend too. Here was my process:
Wash Car with Dawn
Clay Bar entire car
Wash again
Apply Rejex
Leave car in garage 24 hours
Apply 2nd coat of Rejex
Leave car in garage 24 hours
Tomorrow morning I'll view the results.
Hummmm. I think I saw a post stating that the Rejex seals it in. Regardless it does work real well and actually has a bit of depth, even for a flat color
Looks great Tim!!! That's great about the mileage, I'll have to do a similar test. Gotta love Guards Red.
I'm halfway through a variation of OE's (a multiple concours winner) formula.
1. Washed the car with Dawn to strip off wax.
2. Went over it with a clay bar.
3. Applied 3M Hand Glaze.
4. Buffed it out, then waited 2 hours and buffed again.
5. While waiting I used metal polish on the exhaust tips and cleaned the interior.
6. Applied a coat of Rejex, including windows, exhaust tips, and rims, letting it cure
overnight.
Tomorrow I'll...
7. Give it another coat and let cure at least 8 hours.
8. Take some pictures.
Rob:
Can't wait to see the Blue all buffed up.
The hardest part with darker cars is keeping the micro scratches down.
I have the Zaino products and the Giroits stuff and I really like the results of the Rejex better.
Hope to see pictures tomorrow.
I applaud all of your efforts in detailing your Porsches. You should be very proud of how great they look.
I would like to comment on the combination of Wax and Rejex. It is best to apply the Rejex prior to putting any wax on the car. This is because the Rejex will bind to the Wax and not the paint surface, and wax has a much shorter life than Rejex, so the Rejex will wear away much quicker.
So to recap, the steps for a best of show finish are:
Wash with mild kitchen detergent such as Dawn
Dry well
Clay the surface with plenty of lubricant
Glaze the surface, rub out
Apply a swirl remover/polish, rub out
Wait about 2 hours and rub out surface again
Apply Rejex and rub out
let cure overnight
Optionally apply a second coat, let cure about 8 hours
Lastly, optional, apply a coat of your favorite wax.
This is the path that will lead you to top honors in any competition, and you should only have to do this once a year!
Tim,
Your car looks gorgeous! Another Rejex success story...
BTW - what kind of window tint to you have (and what degree)?
My red C2 is tintless at the moment and that hot Texas summer is about to arrive...
Thanks!
Longhorn:
Thanks! It is 35%. Not sure if it is legal or not but hey
Orient:
I thought that if you put wax ON Rejex it would NOT bind due to the qualities of Rejex.
Can the Rejex guy clarify a bit?
