Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've used a local hotrod shop for previous Lexus and my boat and discovered our local Porsche dealer uses the same shop and just upcharges the customer.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My search for a good used 996 continues. I found a midnight blue 99 C4 with all gizmos that I want, 16k miles, except for one thing: it has a grey interior and a plastic grey dash. The dash is probably the biggest bother because I find the reflection of the dash in the window when sunny very distracting and annoying. Is there anything one can do short of ripping the whole dash out? Is it possible to have it recovered with black leather, or some other type of covering for a reasonable amount? Have it painted? I'd like to stay away from loose "carpet type" covers. So close... Thanks, Jan

POST 2Original post

Quiz the hotrod guys as to who does their upholstery work. I still maintain these guys have the best and cheapest resources for upholstery, body and paint work. I imagine you'll find a shop that will cover your plastic parts with leather or synthetic. These guys are phenominal. I've used a local hotrod shop for previous Lexus and my boat and discovered our local Porsche dealer uses the same shop and just upcharges the customer.
