Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

it came originally with a 3-spoke steering wheel now it has a 4-spoke and the front bumper was replaced....can we say possible front end collision).
Leading evidence: 'Replace ....can we say possible front end collision)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'original it would be yellow in color' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check clears' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

As for it being S/C, no experience with knowing what to check for on a S/C Porsche.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has a Supercharger from Imagine Auto. Should I be afraid?
I'm in the market for aero kit coupe... Thanks for the information
Keith
IA is the right place to go if you want an SC.
It's very pretty, I love SY. Consider that mods don't add much to the resale value of the car, and that altough many SC users here have had no problems, it certainly does increase the risk of something bad happen.
Thought about a Turbo at all?
Very good examples can be had around 60k.
Not sure if you should be afraid, but here are some things that I noticed (not big issues at all):
1. The Carrera Badge on the back is not straight, drops down on the right side.
2. Check the option codes. Don't want to be surprised (i.e. it came originally with a 3-spoke steering wheel now it has a 4-spoke and the front bumper was replaced....can we say possible front end collision).
3. Muffler tips are very close to the outside part of the body, in other words they are not in the middle.
Again none of these things I can see as being a major problem at all, just observations.

I guess it comes down to what they are asking for it.
Oh I am a lover of the colour of course
Yeah the car does look nice, aesthetically, but that can be deceiving. Dont want to scare you, but I would have your local dealership check it out. A couple hundred bucks could be worth thousands.
Good eye by the way Demon!
Yes I noticed the 4-spoke wheel as well. I was under the impression that was a 99 mod year thing, but in my search on the normal sources, I've seen a number of 2000 models shown with 4-spoke. Perhaps that was an early/late model year switch.
The option code sticker shows: XAA which I believe is Aero Cup Kit. Does this appear to be a supercharger? When I look at the IA site they seem to show Turbo kits.
Two things that caught my eye:
1) the console is probably factory carbon, since it has yellowed, not that it's bad, just common with the factory's carbon.
2) not sure if it's the angle of the camera, but in the closeup shots of the rear taillights, it looks like the rear bumper is not aligned properly. Could have happened when the GT fins were added, or could have been rear end collision damage.
Beyond that, it does NOT have our BumperPlugs and it does NOT have our painted bumperettes. Shame on them.
Too funny, I have a lot of questions as well...... nice car at a nice price!
Just never owned a P car before and weary about first one being boosted and getting a lemonchello!!!! Plus I am not local so that adds to the mix as I could not inspect in person or test drive....
Nice catches Eric. It's the fine details of the finished product that counts, because if we can see them online in pictures then in person it will be noticeable also. I didn't mention the plugs or bumperrettes as I knew you would be adding to this thread
BTW Eric, do you carry the GT fins?
Eric, do you supply and paint all body items? Just curious might help some others. And secure your monopoly of P Car go to guy for everything upgraded OEM.
looks like a great car. The S/C is one of the earlier ones, the tintake tubes to the throttle are 3 piece. The expansion tank has been replaced since it is white in color... at that mileage if it was the original it would be yellow in color. and it is egas.
The S/C is an evo and it is a great kit... there are prob close to a 1000 of these and has been designed and tested in AZ, so running hot is not an issues. Though the resale of these kits with the car hasnt all been that great. This car is prob pushing 420hp...
rear end damge, maybe, some shops remove the rear end covers, and exhaust system for the S/C installations... the expansion tank is a common failure in these cars.
This is a clean car. We put the kit in about a year ago, and at that time it had NOT been in a rear end collision. It is a well optioned, clear aero 996 and not something I would be affraid of buying a year ago. That being said, I cannot attest to the owner's maintinance since that time, however knowing the individual, it's not something I would shy away from. Good luck if you decide to go through with the purchase. Eric- how could you let this guy slip by with no plugs?!
