Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

But I agree that you don't need it unless you want to use harness and this is not required until you want to push the car closer to the limit and that should not be done at the first DE
Leading evidence: 'Use harness and this is not required until you want' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use harness and this is not required until you want' (1 discussions). I spoke about this with some other guys using the tequip bar and the best solution, albeit not good for me, was to install GT3 seats and remove the seat cushion when driving with a helmet.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good question, I had to remove my bar since i couldnt fit in the car comfortably. Tilt is definitely affected more than leg room. I tried to find a position that i could live with but once i found that position my problem continued.... i could not wear my helmet without it being pinned to the headliner. I am 6' and would say I have a long torso. I spoke about this with some other guys using the tequip bar and the best solution, albeit not good for me, was to install GT3 seats and remove the seat cushion when driving with a helmet.
I took mine out 3 weeks after installing it...
Im going to buy the GMG bar without the crossbars so i can recline enough to have clearance for my helmet on track days. Now I just need to find a seat that will lower me an inch or 2 and recline during street driving.
Do you track your car?
Not yet, I'm about to do my first track day with this car on the 22nd at Laguna Seca... I found a good deal on the roll bar but I'm 6'3 and I sit with the tilt of the seat pretty straight up... I have a gt3 console delete so that gave me more breathing room for my leg... I'm thinking about the Agency roll bar cause its suppose to no be so tight fit... But this one came up for a good price and I'm thinking about it, I'm going to put in the gt3 seats eventually... So I guess it would be temporary.
Is this YOUR first track event, or just the
cars
first event? If this is your first track event, you won't need the roll bar right away. Maybe a few events down the road.
I had the Tequipment roll bar in my 1999 coupe and it did not inhibit the seat for a proper track day position. However, I did have limits on tilt and rake and length when in the highway cruising positions. I am 5' 10" and my helmet touches the roof when in the proper track day position.
Sadly, I currently have a sunroof, which is a big part of the clearance problem. When I ordered my first 1999 C2 coupe, the sunroof was a delete option that year and I deleted it. My current 1999 C2 Coupe was not a sunroof delete (again, sadly).
Its my first track day in this specific car... I know I don't need a roll bar but just one of those things I want to add to the car anyway... the car looks like a mk1 gt3 so I'm going for that look
next step is to get a nice set of h&r coil overs.
I have recently installed my tequipment bar as well and I have no clearance problem as far as the seat recline because I used to seat quite straight up and now that I have the euro gt3 seat, which don't recline' I don't have any problem to with recline. I can slide the seat all the way back without problem.
As far as height clearance, I actually have to remove the euro seat pads to clear the roof with my helmet on, before that I had the electric seats with the option 10mm lower and I was fine.
make sure to check that you clear the roof with your helmet on, before going to the track.
But I agree that you don't need it unless you want to use harness and this is not required until you want to push the car closer to the limit and that should not be done at the first DE
Phil.
on long corners, my tequipment roll bar squeaks.... this tells me the bar is actually doing something (stiffening the frame).... that or I should tighten up the bolts.
