I was crusing down the freeway, fiance behind me in her car and the car next to me decided to change lanes....I just jerked the car to the left and luckily the was no car there.

After test driving lots of cars I can attest to the fact that it definately changes the exhaust note of the car and it most definately has an extra kick to it, especially when you hit 5500+ rpm.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

First of all thanks a million to all of you who gave advise to me on my original post.
Just got back from the dealership....I finally bought my 911!! They are detailing it so I'm picking it up tomorrow morning. I wonder if I will be able to sleep tonight. Feel like a little kid the night before Christmas
I know you are supposed to post pics but since I don't have had a chance to take any myself yet you'll have to make do with the pics on the dealer webpage:
http://stevens-creek.porschedealer.com/preowned_cars/info.php?inventoryid=283899
More pics to follow once I get her home tomorrow.
Matt - Congrats and Welcome! BTW - The link does not work. OK, since you mentioned the you are going to post some pics, I'll give you a "3-day pass" on the pics! (Damn, did I say that out loud? I must be getting soft.
hehehe). When you post the pics tell us a little more about the car!
Again, Congrats!
< note to self: add Swede_Matt to the "Newbie - Promised Pics" list >
Trying again....wanna be a good boy here and post pics right away

Thanks for welcoma and the 3-day pass....heheheh. I just got a Digitial Nikon SLR that I'm itching to try out on my new car so I'm sure I'll have pics by tomorrow afternoon.
I can't wait to go pick it up tomorrow!!!
Very nice! Congrats and good luck. You probably won't sleep much, I didn't with my first (was having coffee at 3am waitng for the dealer to open) and my new to me 996 was a week and a half wait for inspection and shipping - talk about agony, I did not even know what day it would arrive! I think my wife was almost happier to see the car than me!
Thanks boys.
I spent 3 hours cleaning my garage yesterday morning for my new lady to have a new clean home...hehehe. I also wanted to make sure nothing was going to fall on her.
Spent the whole day driving and what a wonderful car it is. She is an absolute beast. Once it hits 5550+ rpm it's like all valves and "stuff" opens up and she just screams....and so do I with joy...
I almost had a heart attack driving it home from the dealer. I was crusing down the freeway, fiance behind me in her car and the car next to me decided to change lanes....I just jerked the car to the left and luckily the was no car there. It was sooooo close to a wrecked right side on my new baby.
I did take picks last night and it will be posted today. Don't want to be a bad newbie hehehe
Thanks cdodkin! Better pics will follow tonight.
I want to install aluminum rings around the gauges. Anyone have any tips on what to get and how to install it?
how did u manage to wait for their detailing work overnight?
if i was u, i would drive the car off the lot with dealer's plate!
cong~~~~~
very high optioned car, X51+full leathe, etc.
The only reason I didn't drive it off the lot right away was the fact that I didn't have any space in the garage. I didn't want to leave her outside exposed to weather and possible hooligans....I know I'm paranoid
Yes, the car has tons of options. I had all the stuff I wanted. The X51 package was the final thing that made me go for it. After test driving lots of cars I can attest to the fact that it definately changes the exhaust note of the car and it most definately has an extra kick to it, especially when you hit 5500+ rpm.
I've got all my other toys for sale now so I can make some room in my garage.
OK, got the pics but can't for the life of me figure out how to upload pics here. I joined Rennlist but haven't gotten my login info for it yet. Maybe it will all be clear to me tomorrow when my membership is verified.
Potxoli, I have been test driving a lot of 996's over the last six months (fianc is sick of me and Porsche's by now). I can feel and hear a very distinct difference with the X51 kit. With the power kit it feels like it's got two very distinct power kicks. The first one hits at something like 3500rpm and the second one at 5500+ rpm. The second kick is fantastic! It feels like all valves, pipes and stuff are just wide open and the car just screams. The non X51 996s are more subdued and I cant feel those power kicks. Im not sure X51 is that much faster but it sounds like it is at least.
Too bad you dont live closer Potxoli. We seem to have a lot in common. I scuba dive, have a T-Maxx, a Team Associated TC3..and of course a Porsche now.
Matt - here are my "can't miss" instructions for posting a pic. These have NEVER failed to help someone post pics, so the pressure is on YOU to keep my string alive!

Yeah, the second night I had my C4S home parked in the driveway, I came out the next morning to find someone had written F*CK on my right rear fender in toothpaste.
I think my garage is equally dangerous, though... we've got a weed wacker hanging from the rafters!
Great car, and welcome!
Gota911....Thanks for the help. The pressure is on now....I hope I don't disappoint you know with this post.
These are just the fist pics taken when I got her home. I will bore you later with more pics
I dropped her off at the dealer today for a complete professional detailing inside out. When I get her back I'll take more pics.
