i installed the traffic pro after i got my car, and that was the only option offer by Porsche (mine was 02 so i can't retrofit PCM).

If you have the GPS Becker unit in your car, how do you like it? I have a new VW that I want to put this into (marketted as a Harman Kardon TrafficPro). It's $1499 and is supposedly at Circuit City's and Crutchfield. I thought I'd check here and see what the concesus was on how well it works. It's supposedly pretty popular in europe. They have Green, Amber, and Red.. the red matches my VW lighting perfectly and has the simple german look unlike nearly ALL the crap in the aftermarket realm.. thanks

i have it but i don't use it very often. i installed the traffic pro after i got my car, and that was the only option offer by Porsche (mine was 02 so i can't retrofit PCM). anyway, to have a nav system in the car is always better than not have it. the traffic pro will tell u where to turn & how far u are from the destiination, but don't expect to read it on screen since the text is pretty small (it'll give the narrow at least). i like the conceal looking of the system. if u don't tell no one is gonna know it's a nav system. i think the overall funtion is really good also if u don't mind not having a digital map.

I had a TP installed in my 2001 Cab. I first used a TP in a rental Passat in Germany and liked it quite well. I really don't care that there was is digital map as the voice and directional graphics work just fine. I also selected it as it looked like the stock CDR-220 that it replaced and controls my CD changer. Note: According to Becker there should be new nav CDs released this year for North America.
