Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I didn't think the CHP could use radar on freeways.

SPR, they use x band in Malibu and in the Canyons?

Smaller citys still have older units that use X-band.

Has anybody gotten a ticket or spotted a cop using X-Band radar in the L.A.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anybody gotten a ticket or spotted a cop using X-Band radar in the L.A. region? Anywhere in California or Nevada?
I am thinking of programming my SRX to ignore X-Band in order to cut down on false alerts.
doesn't really answer your question, but I did the same thing with my SRX in Boston about 3 weeks ago - no bad consequences thus far (knock on wood) except that it's a whole lot quieter in my car!
I wish there was a radar forum where people could exchange info like this, regardless of their car. Oh well. . .
the few times my V1 has gone off on the freeway in la and i've actually been able to verify cop presence, it's been ka band. i heard that x band wasn't really used anymore...
SPR, they use x band in Malibu and in the Canyons? I've had my Ka and Laser warnings go off on PCH, and saw a cop staking out Las Flores Canyon Road once.
Where else have you seen cops in the Canyons? this is kinda important...
I don't know if they are using it or their unit is on standby and leaking, but my SRX is picking some CHP on the freeways. One time my SRX alerted me to Ka-Band, and after slowing down fast, I spotted the black and white from underneath the truck to my right.
they definitely use radar on the freeways now. there was a big article in the la times about 6 weeks ago about how many people the chp busts going over 100 mph on i-15 using radar.
i drive I-10 every morning from santa monica, and my Ka alarm went off (very unusual on the 10) and sure enough there was a cop waiting on the shoulder around the bend right before Centinella, donut in one hand and radar detector in the other... i'm glad i had the radar detector on, the entrance ramp is one of the only places i get a chance to speed on my way to work.
Radar yes, but the x-band probably not, thats decades old. Of course some small town may have a sheriff with a x-band radar but I doubt it. Most probable are ka-band since its they are the only radars that can clock you whlie the vehicle with the radar is moving also (or stopped), so they don't have to have the cop car stopped to use it like K-band or laser, those can only be used in static position. Only the Ka-band radar is mobile so its more logical they use that one more in freeways, etc.
CHP radar is Ka band and they use it. Both their cars and bikes are equipted with it.
Smaller citys still have older units that use X-band.
Situational awareness is still the key, detector or not
Well PCH is a highway not a freeway. I have never seen a cop in the canyons themselves but I have seen them around kanan for sure both on the top and bottoms as well as some parts of pch staked out here and there in malibu. I was going to disable it on my v1 as x is annoying in the city, but have seen it go off or did when I used to go up to the canyons here and there and not from false alarms. I also enabled the ku and some other stuff on the v1 from that tutorial link that was listed off here some time ago
