I just installed a set of Innsbrooks (black, of course!) on my car...I do love them but I must say that the black finish is extremely delicate.......make sure you take that into consideration when you make your decision.....in other words the finish really scratches very easily.

I agree with the need to 'be sure' about wheels, as one will have to live with them awhile/ However, At $1500 per set, these Victor Wheels are very good value for money.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I like the VE Innsbruck's. They come in matte black and silver. What do you guys think would look best on my Seal Grey 996?

POST 2Original post

I vote matte black on your car. You haven't asked but you should wear a nice crisp blue button down with a pleated khakis tomorrow.

POST 3Original post

+1 matte black. Should look great...but most my wheels are black...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I actually am wearing a blue button down tomorrow, but with a blue suit not khakis.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have a picture of a grey 996 with black VE wheels?

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 9075655

Either wheel color would look great but I lean to the darker on the car.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow, that looks pretty good. Looks like my car. Thanks.

Those wheels are not the Victor wheels but it does get the idea across. I have the Victor Innsbrucks in Matte on my Arctic Silver 996. I love the look. My car is below with another shot of a Cayman.

POST 12Original post

The Wheel Dynamics appear to have a more concave face (at least at first look).

POST 13Original post

Very good choice as these are good quality, great looking and one of the lightest wheels out there. It doesn't hurt that they are very affordable either. Mine were $1265 out the door in May which included mounting/bal, valves, black caps with crest. Having these 7 months, I'm still very happy and I'm sure I made the right decision. I think either color would look good on your car. The silver would look more conservative and traditional while the black would look more "now" and follow the current trends in customizing. I went with black and am very happy with my choice. I have found them actally not too bad to keep clean. I'd think black would be easier than silver. Oh, and finally, the biggest plus for me is I noticed better handling and response with the lighter weight. I went for an aggressive drive in the canyons right after getting them mounted and could tell a difference for the better. Weight was the #1 factor in my decision to get new wheels, looks second, cost third.

POST 14Original post

Whenever I see a car with black wheels, my first reaction is that it lost its hubcaps. Not a fan. (This doesn't apply to aircooled)

POST 15Original post

Quotes source post: 9077564

When custom wheels were only for those with deep pockets, we did remove our hub caps to get "the" look. This was in the '60s and early '70s ;-)

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm more of a conservative guy (blue Oxford shirt) so I may be leaning silver. It's good to hear that these wheels are good quality and handle better. Does anyone have a picture of a grey car with the silver wheels for comparisons sake???

POST 17Original post

I recently installed ZEHN Silver wheels on my silver C4S. They are elegant and enhance the horizontality of my car. To my designer's eye, I cannot understand the fascination with black, multispoke wheels. 1) They always look dirty. 2) They are invisible, creating just big black discs. 3) The body of the car floats on blackness, and looks too vertical....NOT sleek! In Montreal, many of use remove our Mags in winter and drive on black, dirty, rusty steel rims. Our winter cars look really, really lousy. Why would anyone replicate this 'look'. Black wheels might look macho, tough and malicious, in a stereotypical way, but a silver wheel is MUCH more harmonious with the 911 bodywork.

THE VE WHEELS ARE GREAT I WILL SOON PUT ON SOME LEMANS IN 19'' PIC'S TO FOLLOW

POST 20Original post

soverystout Why are those crests not pointing at the valve stems' Hmmm, lol nice looking wheels

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Joe, I tend to agree with you. I love the ZEHNS. They look terrific. I did see a white cabrio 997 turbo with a black top and black wheels and it looked great, but I agree with your many points and I think the silver wheels, maybe even the ZEHNS would look good on my car.

POST 22Original post

These present a different look....not for everyone, but I like them

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think they look great, especially the rear lip.

POST 24Original post

Quotes source post: 9083212

My sentiments as well. Except for the designer part.

POST 25Original post

I think the black spokes with chrome rim like the FP.1's look good on most paint colors except black. I almost bought a speed yellow 99 C2 and another 2000 ocean blue with those. They give it more of a rally look. Kazual's wheels look good. Not exactly my taste but very nice.

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was leaning black for a while, now I'm leaning silver. I like the Innsbruck, but the Zehns are very nice. Wheels are a big decision, they many times make the car but most of all because of their expense. You will have to live with them for a while. Decisions decisions...

POST 27Original post

I agree with the need to 'be sure' about wheels, as one will have to live with them awhile/ However, At $1500 per set, these Victor Wheels are very good value for money. The Insbruck is even partially forged! A set of factory forged GT3 wheels, or the HRE items are about 3-4 x that cost. I hope my Zehns withstand the rigours of tacking at Mont Tremblant. They'd better! To Dresler, I have been a practicing industrial designer for 40 years. That's all I meant. I do not suffer from 'wing envy', or 'low wing esteem'.

POST 28Original post

These are the VE wheels in black n my Turbo. They are a real pain to clean but still ride good after 2 years,

POST 31Original post

Bit off the time-line... OK, your words were thoughtful, but you got me with that picture. Just ordered a set of Zehns today

POST 32 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I still haven't purchased my wheels, but I think I'm about to. I got distracted (bought a boat that needed a lot of work). Since this post, any more thoughts on these wheels? Are black more accepted? More in style? Are VE tested? Are they good wheels over the long term? Any new thoughts on the Innsbruck wheels at all???

POST 33Original post

Don't know about "in style" but I have a set of black hollow spokes and another of silver. I like them both. If I were you id skip the aftermarket wheel unless you buy an HRE, Volk, BBS or Champion. Also I really like the lightweight 5 spokes that you currently have. Maybe find another set of those and refinish in gloss or satin black instead. Add spacers too.

POST 34Original post

Styling aside as that's highly personal, I've always maintained that Innsbruck, OZ, and Enkei NT03 are some of the cheapest non-forged wheel options you can get for the weight savings. It's up to you to determine if the wheel finish and style is something you like or not. FYI, I had black wheels back in '99 so it seems to have some good staying power. lol

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 10855309

They look great.

POST 39Original post

I got these this summer, in black. Love them. Often mistaken for HREs. They are very light, compared to my stock solid spokes.

POST 40Original post

Great bang for the buck and timeless classic racing design. The poor man's BBS(nothing wrong with that. ).

POST 41 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 10857270

Poor man's BBS, right up my ally!!!

POST 42Original post

I just installed a set of Innsbrooks (black, of course!) on my car...I do love them but I must say that the black finish is extremely delicate.......make sure you take that into consideration when you make your decision.....in other words the finish really scratches very easily. GL

POST 43 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's a good point. I still like the Innsbruck but I'm going back and fourth on black or silver. Ugh.

POST 44Original post

While I like both I would choose "traditional" silver.

POST 45Original post

I went back and forth on black v. silver too but I was worried about scratching the black.

POST 46 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DT, what did you end up with. I was convienced I wanted black but if they are delicate and scratch easily, that really concerns me. I'm pretty rough on my cars meaning they're not garage queens. I drive them every day. I guess I'm back to silver. Can't go wrong with either one I guess.

POST 47 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DT, nevermind, I see your red car above. Awesome!

POST 48 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any thoughts on these compared to the Innsbrucks? They also come in black. The gunmetal would match my car tho. I hate this decision. It's a BIG ONE!

POST 49Original post

Quotes source post: 10859007

I like this design better. Looks a lot like the Sport Classic BBS wheel.

POST 50 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I like them too. Then of course there's the Victor Equipment Lemans. Decisions, decisions.

POST 51Original post

hmmm not sure..... sorry but if you want multi piece wheels, buy multi piece wheels... I am not a fan of one piece wheels that look like multi piece. You are putting these wheels on a Porsche, not a VW or Honda. my $.02

POST 52 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You are 1000% correct. So I'm back to the Innsbruck. I'm leaning silver because the black looks too washed out. Thoughts???

POST 53Original post

I recommend going to VE's website. There is a huge photo gallery of each wheel on different cars in different colors that you can compare to help you decide. The online configurator thing never looks quite the same.

POST 54 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep, just went to the VE site. The decision has been made. It's the Innsbruck silver!!!

POST 55Original post

Quotes source post: 10859272

We are a Victor Equipment dealer. Give us a call

POST 57Original post

black finish is actually pretty easy to touch up and only scuffs I have in 2 years are the ones my momentary lapse in judgment caused by getting to close to curbs.

POST 58Original post

Good decision! I wasn't sure either whether to go black or silver for my dark green 996 C2. I would have preferred dark grey or charcoal which they don't have so I went with silver. I got the 18 inch with 295/30/18 and 225/40/18. Very happy with the looks and handling.

POST 59 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do the VE Innsbruck come in different offsets for the 18 x8 and 18x10? Will these fit a NB? I'm on he Discount Tire Direct website and it seems if they only offer one offset???
