You can use Harry's Lap Timer app with an ODB2 scanner and it will show rpms/speed/g force/etc, and will also sync to an external gopro via wifi to get multiple angles.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not bad for a 11 year old girl with 144k miles. Yes, I need to be faster. Only a 1:59. I am probably leaving 5-6 seconds in total, spread around everywhere. http://vimeo.com/77567960

POST 2Original post

Awesome. I love that track. Thanks for posting this, we need more track videos and pictures in the 996 forum these days. I'll be at Homestead this weekend and plan to share some on track footage as well.

POST 3Original post

Great film. I love that HD on Vimeo. Can you get the camera so we see the dials as well? Somewhere around chest high? Is that possible? Was it the GO Pro you used?

POST 4Original post

Great video, looks like an awesome track. If you're using a gopro, highly recommend hooking up an external microphone and running it back near the exhaust: Buttonwillow Raceway - 2002 Porsche 911 Targa - 7/20/2013 - YouTube

POST 5Original post

Great videos guys. This is what makes 911 great. They groceries during in the morning, and then they can go on the racetrack with those groceries in the frunk.

POST 6Original post

The Go pro on the right side of your helmet might actually show up the dials. They are not visible on this film. What about running with the side lights on the car. Is that allowed in racing?

POST 7Original post

You can use Harry's Lap Timer app with an ODB2 scanner and it will show rpms/speed/g force/etc, and will also sync to an external gopro via wifi to get multiple angles. Some tracks/companies will allow externally mounted cameras, haven't had a chance to try it myself yet. Gopro sells a suction cup mount that should let you mount it anywhere on the car, very sturdy.

POST 8Original post

Damn, I need to get back to the track. It has been too long since the last track day and the auto-cross just isn't the same. Here is a pick from 2005. Didn't get any action shots then and they didn't have go-pros either.
