This is not a probability of success.

Rear window separated a few years ago and re-glued it using the Friz method but without the stitching.

I took it back to the shop and they told me the old top, over 14 years, had stretched and that stretched the headliner that apparently uses tension to stay in place.

I don't mind it because I rarely use the top and it's not in the passenger zone; but, you California guys will probably want to invest in a new one even though they cost almost as much as the top.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Rear window separated a few years ago and re-glued it using the Friz method but without the stitching. It lasted two years and separated again (expectedly). My kids were embarrassed by it despite the black duck tape I rigged it with that matched my black top.
Priced three Haartz A5 German Tops with plastic windows:
GAHH $850 + shipping call it $880
Sierra sold by Auto Tops Direct: Supposedly manufactured by GAHH $520+ shipping call it $550
Auto Top Factory sold through eBay allegedly made by one of the "H's" who departed GAHH $379 + FREE shipping
I went with the Auto Top Factory $379. It looks awesome. The guy at the shop said it was definitely OEM quality. He said the biggest thing was that the plastic fittings were identical to the OEM. He said that is his biggest issues with aftermarket tops and that mine went right on. He took down the brand and phone number.
The only issue is I re-used the headliner and it's a little saggy in the very back. I took it back to the shop and they told me the old top, over 14 years, had stretched and that stretched the headliner that apparently uses tension to stay in place. Also my cab top motor is working a little harder than it was before and both the factory and the upholstery shop told me exactly the same thing: New tops are like a new pair of shoes. Leave it up for at least a week in the sun and rain and it will stretch and conform. Of course we don't have rain here in Texas so I hit it with the hose. That will help but I'm guessing not eliminate the headliner issue as the frame bows stretch with the top. I don't mind it because I rarely use the top and it's not in the passenger zone; but, you California guys will probably want to invest in a new one even though they cost almost as much as the top. The labor was $650 with tax so I'm in for a grand (vs $2400 at the dealer with GAHH?). That to me is a far better alternative to having them re-stitch a window into a 14-year old top for $750.
