More than that, it is the most precise feeling unit I have ever ran the gears through.

That said, any doubts I previously had about the unit, any opinions regarding the price-point, and how much it would "really" differ from other commonly used upgrades ...are long gone.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First off, I have to say that Chaz from Numeric Racing is "The Man." I was absolutely blown away by the quality of his shifter. I've installed numerous shifters of all shapes and sizes in many different vehicles over the last 20 years. The Numeric Racing shifter is by far the best I have EVER seen. It is a true work of art. More than that, it is the most precise feeling unit I have ever ran the gears through. To put it simply, it feels like an appendage of your right arm. There is absolutely no play (slop) and the "snick, snick" movement is as predictable as it gets. It was a direct bolt in and required no modification whatsoever. I'm debating whether or not to cover it up with the console...I just can't bring myself to mask such beauty with plastic and carbon fiber. I opted to forego the new cables (for now) as it didn't fit into my budget. That said, any doubts I previously had about the unit, any opinions regarding the price-point, and how much it would "really" differ from other commonly used upgrades ...are long gone. Removing the center console is not too bad...there are DIY's online (with photos). Pop the shifter off. Mark the cables before removal (shown in pics). Remove stock plastic unit. Cannibalize a couple parts (you'll know which ones) and fasten them onto the new shifter. Bolt in new unit and attach cables according to where they're marked. Adjust the two slots at the rear where cables clip in (easy). Done Thanks Chaz. I am one happy camper.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Demo unit was $570 shipped. However, now that I know how good it is...I would have paid the higher price had I not acquired a demo unit. Chaz gives a healthy discount to those of us who race our cars (SCCA & PCA members, etc.) In his words, "We STRONGLY support race teams and club members."
