Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Yes, but it's the same input the CD changer uses so you can't use both.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does the PCM1 have an AUX input? If so,will the Becker Aux/Tel input cable work with PCM1?

POST 2Original post

Yes, but it's the same input the CD changer uses so you can't use both.

POST 3Original post

Rob is right, but..... you can put a switch in to utilize that input for something else, like satellite radio. See my pic below - I put in a switch that toggles between the CD changer and the Sirius unit. I drilled a hole in the little circle opposite the lighter (on the 996 there is a wiper **** there). The Sirius unit is at the bottom. The trick is, you need to have your PCM think its playing the CD, ie, a CD must be playing for the PCM to have sound come out. Other than that, it is great.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, Rob and KY_soldier, So do you use the Becker "Phone mute/Aux audio-in/Tel audio-in/Removal keys in one kit, BNA-116.276 ($16.40)"? KY_soldier, your solution sounds interesting. Can you share more information about the type of switch you used and how you wired the cd and sirius into it? Thanks.

POST 5Original post

I bought the becker aux-in kit just recently and don't have it in yet. The switch is nothing more than a power toggle, and the sirius unit and cd changer are plugged into the the same input. when the power is on (sat radio) it overrides the cd changer and is heard. When you toggle it off, the cd changer is heard. Real simple, your installer could do it real easy. PS - I also added a line noise block because of a little static I was getting. It all works flawlessly now and I get a direct connect sat radion instead of FM modulation.

POST 7Original post

KY_soldier- What did you use as a "noise block"? I have tried those "ferous Magnets" and they have reduced but not eliminated the engine static. Joe

POST 8Original post

Engine static means that your electrical components have not been grounded properly. Forget the magnets, reground the components.

POST 9Original post

KY, I am thinking about adding Sirius to my car too. Is there any reason we cannot move the nav CD drive somewhere else (trnuk or glovebox) and use that space for the satellite radio?
