Except for the Techart hood badge (not sure why it's there) and the stickers on the headrests that is one clean car.

This is simply a post showing pics of the detailed car, a car that I have had for 2 years and everytime I detail, clean, drive,..simply makes me re-think my decision about selling it.

Suggestion
Your car looks nice however I would change the hood crest to the Porsche silver crest because the only visible TechArt pieces are the rims (I could see it if you had the TechArt front bumper, skirts wing etc.).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am going to sell my car once the GT-R is available...so in preparation for such, I took the car out and spent a couple of hours detailing her. Here she is...nice and clean. I really wish I had an extra spot in the garage...so that I didn't have to get rid of any of my cars...but...maybe I will extend my garage.
I drove her through some twisties, enjoyed the day and parked to take some pics...
Enjoy!
I need a better camara and better shooting skills....
very nice, good job with the detail! Love the techart... what exhaust and pipes are you running? put a chin spoiler on... and yeah becarefull with the diff tires.
GL with the Nissan
Yup...the P Zeros up front seem to last forever...the Falkens are considerably grippier than the P Zeros though. Now I am getting more understeer after...so I am considering going to a 245 instead of 235 up front...but I am not sure if I would be able to fit it...
I don't think I would like the calipers black...I thought about red...but still having second thoughts...
Stickers...that's my thing...let me be.
The techart badge was purchased with the wheels, suspension, sway bars and shifter (all Techart)...thought it was a nice compliment.
The car also has the PSE Exhaust, K&N intake and the IA brain surgery...I think that is pretty much it.
To each his own. Didn't say it looked tacky, just not a fan of it. I can understand the Ruf badge on cars that have a complete wheel/suspension/MOTOR package from Ruf but that's about it since it is an actualy Ruf car (if registered properly).
Probably not...the car is perfect and would not change a thing about it. The most I would take out would be the hardwired V1....but even that is already mounted on the dash...so probably not.
Yup...just a matter of taste. I usually debadge everything I have...unfortunately, there are 2 little wholes that I did not want to go throught he trouble of patching/plugging...otherwise...it would be gone. Just like the badge on the back...I personally don't like displaying what the car is...some people like adding or keeping their badges...like you said, to each his own.

...
When's the GT-R going to be available in the U.S. (middle of next year?). From the pictures I've seen of it the GT-R is not a great looking car. Also from what I've heard you will be very limited in any modifications you can make to it without voiding the warranty. For that price I'd rather have a 996 Turbo. Not trying to dismay you and good luck.
Your car looks nice however I would change the hood crest to the Porsche silver crest because the only visible TechArt pieces are the rims (I could see it if you had the TechArt front bumper, skirts wing etc.). I'd match up the tires when it's time to sell (one less thing a buyer has to pick at).
[QUOTE=FLY996;4794408]
It is all a matter of opinion. Some people think bulldogs are ugly...some people think they are adorable. You have your opinion. I like the looks of the GT-R and I think it would make a heck of a daily driver. I am selling my M3 and my 911 to get one. I have a Z06 that addresses the power issue so the GT-R is not going to fill that gap.
I have the original badges if the "next" owner was to put them back on...I will leave it up to him/her/them. Again, if they want to match the tires, they can do it once it is their car. I am going to price her to sell and will take all those little things into consideration, but trust me when I say she will be priced to sell...she WILL be priced to sell. And if she doesn't sell, well, then the 3.5 garage will have to expand and end of story...
I think the GT-R looks just fine and would love to own one. I also think a lot of people complain about the styling because they know they can't get away with complaining about the performance.
Guys...this is not a FOR SALE post. This is simply a post showing pics of the detailed car, a car that I have had for 2 years and everytime I detail, clean, drive,..simply makes me re-think my decision about selling it. Once I decide to post it up for sale, I will post a for sale ad. Thanks for the comments (positive and negative) and feedback.
That is very true. Even if the styling was top of the line, there would ALWAYS be something "some" people will find to complain about. The wheels are awful, or the interior sucks...or it is still a Nissan...
it's amazing to me how people stick with what they got.. and just rally around that totem pole all day as if it's not totally cool to acknowledge other cars and the positive attributes that what they have to offer.
i love all types of cars. i drive a 911 but dude is the GTR a freakin' beast of a car where i could see why someone would buy it instead of a similarly priced 911? heck yea. hey even take the $ out of it... could i see why someone would want a gtr over a 997 TT or GT3. heck yea!
GTR in my opion is a fairly unattractive car, can't argue the performance! To each their own. I like your 911, but would delete the techart badge.
Good luck with the sale when it comes to that point.
Oh Benji...you will never be king with that mentallity. If you never have, you should stop by sometime...my treat:

No matter how many nice web links, you can't convince me KS is even remotely close to the vicinity of being "the place to be". and belee this, imma king already.
in all seriousness, thx for the kind offer. I was there twice in the past 2 years. Great bbq, pretty much lame everything else. if i'm back there on business (not likely), i'll give you a shout, man. i'm sure it'll be more fun with a local friend to hang out with and show me the ropes.
I am not trying, nor I will EVER try to convince ANYONE, that KS/KC/OP is the place to be...nor that it will ever be.
If bbq is all they showed you while you were here, then your host failed. Actually, the BBQ here is kind of lame compared to South and Central America...I don't care what everyone says. And you are absolutely right, having a local show you the places is the best way to get to know a town.
The car looks great all detailed out like that. Always maked me feel good. GTR wouldnt be my first choice but I totally see why some love it. I heard that Nissan is actually owned by Renault? Hard to belive to me.
bro, it looks a lot more quality than your frankenstein narrowbody honestly w/ the funky bulbous widebody techart replica bumpers and the 18" wheels
this car can back-up its flashy exterior and if i saw this thing ride up, i'd give it respect and love
and you post up pretty photoshopped pics of your ride, let's at least give this godzilla debutante a fair shot w/ some quick amateur flicks from teh LA auto show shall we
i can only imagine what this sucker would look like slightly lowered and filled out with some perfectly speced out aftermarket wheels from OZ/BBS/Work - drop it like it's...
with that said i'd
never
buy one, but again... i can recognize greatness when i see it.
WOW, I didn't know it was possible, but the close up pics make the car look even worse than I had originally thought. It looks like they had 4 guys design a specific part of the car, but the guys were not allowed to see the other designs until final assembly. Butt Ugly!

Actually, I take my statement back. After seeing the photos you post, I really like your front end and the overlook of your car. It is VERY similar to the GT-R....

Thanks Ben! A sincere compliment like this from such a knowledgeable and respected individual like yourself means sooo much to me.
LOL predictable - meant so much that i bet you were mad Google searching that **** cuz you
remembered what i wrote
but then i wouldn't be surprised if you had bookmarked it, printed my quote, framed it, and put it up on your bedroom wall at your parent's house like a proud poppa !
all things are relative man... as you can see i'm not much a fan of narrowbodies so it's not too hard to give your car props, and the more i look at it, the more i realized it's a slapstick auto body shop glued together nightmare of a kit. but i didnt want to hurt feelings and go backand retune my comments
Not trying to toot my own horn...but your authoritive opinion seems to be in the minority (actual post on 6speed and rennlist)...
"I stand corrected about the TA front bumper not looking good on NB cars, that looks great."
"Does it have a SC? if not, it needs one cuz that looks fast! I have to give props to bodykits, I don't like them but that car is fly"
"Looks nice but would look fantastic with the C4S red stripe across the rear."
"Damn! Your car looks sooo fine. I love the red accent, make the car standout. Thumb up for the beautiful piece of art."
"that TA kit looks badass! I never knew what a TA style sideskirt would look like on a narrow body and your car proves to me that it looks great!"
"what kind of shift **** is that? any close up pics? car sure does look great tho!"
"whats up buddy? the car looks sick! we really need to meet up and take some pics together asap!!! "
"Nice ride! That thing better be fast with those looks!!!"
"Very nice! Amazing photos!"
"the best looking narrowbody i've seen" (from "The Authority unto Himself"???)
"That looks good. I don't usuaslly like all those add-ons on narrow body cars, but for some reaason this one pulls everything off nicely."
"This 996 looks bad ***"
"Wow, beautiful car!!"
"I really like the kit and the wheels. I'm back and forth on the pin striping. It looks a little uneven since it was done by hand. It probably looks better in person. Nice job though."
"i love the red trim around the side mirrors. i did that on mine."
"Very nice! +10"
"Nice car. Too bad we couldn't hook up this past weekend."
"that car looks really nice."
" think it's one of the CLEANIEST 996 out there. GOOD Job!"
"That car is freakin' HOT, WoW!"
"GREAT looking car, your friend did a good job with it."
"That looks absolutely stunning!"
"Great looking ride!! "
"Very Nice! Can you please tell us what the mods are?"
"car looks sick!!! (from Tailwag???)"
"hope ya dont mind me using your car as a screen saver"
"Very nice ! "
"haha the pics fooled me. didn't realize you put all that on a narrowbody!" (from The Authority unto Himself"...did you skip the class on wide vs. narrow body???)
"That is a beautiful car...the pinstriping really stands out...love it in red."

that alot of the posts you write Ben are more under the category of trying to look great for another person with the whole "who cares what anybody thinks, that **** is dope yo!".
Hey, what’s this post about anyway? I pretty much like all 911s especially the 996 both wide a narrow bodied varieties. I not to sure about that Datsun GTR. The styling looks like a future car drawn in the 70’s.
