Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I find this generally true, but I've seen some shops advertising an IMS retrofit special "package" for a flat fee, so it wouldn't shock me if the invoice just listed "IMS retrofit" as the line item (and that included the oil change).
Leading evidence: 'Replace oil' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Did they change the oil during the IMS retrofit???

Could you not have asked the shop if they changed the oil or not?

If they changed the oil they probably would have charged you for 10 or so quarts.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok..
I had an IMS bearing retrofit last week. The service receipt states parts and labor which includes coolant refill but does not specify an oil change.
I assume oil change is not a part of the retrofit...
Well, I changed my oil today... after reading all the oil threads on here, I got confused and decided to stick with M1 0W-40. Safe choice imo.
Well...shame on me, my last oil change was about 22 months and 6,000 miles ago...
I know... I feel bad and I apologize..
But the old oil and the filter were clear and clean.... barely darker than new oil..
Did they change the oil during the IMS retrofit???
Draining the oil is part of the LN engineering IMS bearing retrofit procedure.
If they changed the oil they probably would have charged you for 10 or so quarts.
LOL....
NO!!!
Rennlist will know, not the guy that just did the work
if they changed the IMS without removing the oil they are magical and mystical one in the same
if they re-used your 6k mile oil....they are sucketh and crapethy all in the same
Unlikely if the invoice doesn't list any oil. I do not think I've run across any Porsche service shop, indy or dealer, that gives away materials, fluids, parts, labor, etc. My local dealer service department will discount some things, but this is always listed on the invoice. The full price and the discounted price along of course with the item being discounted, parts mostly.
Sincerely,
Macster.
I find this generally true, but I've seen some shops advertising an IMS retrofit special "package" for a flat fee, so it wouldn't shock me if the invoice just listed "IMS retrofit" as the line item (and that included the oil change). I'm not sure I would *necessarily* assume that it included a new filter, though...
I've owned a few new cars and the service dept at a dealer would sometimes send me off with a quart of oil or coolant no charge. I've also heard of some Porsche dealers providing free fluids, perhaps a quart or two. But certainly not an entire oil change.
