The 40th is very neutral on the track with the standard Porsche recommended tire pressures.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

June is going to be a great month for those who want to drive Laguna Seca. The Monterey and Santa Cruz chapters of the PCA are putting on a DE on June 26 and 27. Expect to meet fellow Porsche enthusiasts and even more nice folks.

Kevin,
Are you bringing your RS replica? It's the best looking Porsche ever made IMO. I'll bring my camera!
Pete,
Can your relatives come to Monterey? This is a gorgeous time of the year. Enjoy Europe!
I love your taste in Porsches! You have an enviable garage, how's the e36 M3 on the track. I had a great experience with Driving Concepts at Laguna Seca and their instructors turned out to be a bunch of BMW drivers. I was surrounded by e30, 36, and 46 M3's! I'm considering a 911SC vs e36 M3 for a future track car. Any suggestions?
Eric, It all depends if the engine is finished or not. Its currently in San Diego, when its finished it will be sent back to Jerry Woods in Campbell they will Dyno it before it goes back in the car. So Im planning and hoping its done by then, if so Ill have the RS and the 996 there. I checked with JJ the guy in charge and he said no problem having two cars there.
The M3 is a great track car but frankly it is so predictable and tame, it is not as entertaining as a Porsche. My previous Porsche was a 2000 Boxster S and it was a lot more fun to drive. You just can't beat a mid-engined car for their handling characteristics. I did a two day DE at Laguna Seca with the Boxster S last Nov and had a blast; what a great track!
I tried to sell the M3 once and keep the Boxster S as my track car but it was impossible to sell for a decent price given all the stuff I've done to it.
I have yet to drive a 911 on the track so I can't say anything about that yet, but I'd expect a 911 to be as much fun, with a bit more power than the Boxster S. My first track day with the 40th Anniv 911 is June 30th, a couple of days after I return from Europe... Can't wait...
Have fun a LS! The Coastal Driving School is a fun group, I drove my M3 with them at Thunder Hill several weeks ago...
Can't wait to see the great cars and folks at this DE. I traded my e46 M3 for my current 40th Anniv and I have no regrets. The 40th is very neutral on the track with the standard Porsche recommended tire pressures. My tire wear is acceptable with my rears wearing about 20% more than the fronts. This appears to be more even than what has been written regarding rear vs front tire wear. The LSD works very well coming out of slow corners. I keep my PSM on during DE's and off during autocrosses where it keeps me from rotating my car. The comfort seats are fine for daily driving, but they lack adequate support on the track and they are absolutely slick on the autocross. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.
