Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I did when I had my aerokit installed on my C2 and the paint on that was never right.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Who does your mods?
Originally I figured it's better to go to the P dealer because it had some sort of unique expertise re: these cars, but my experience now is that the dealer simply orders the parts and then goes to his/her favorite body shop to perform the work, and [no doubt] takes a small piece of the pice for itself.
Is it better to simply order the parts (through Gert, or whomever) and then find a body shop that you trust, and forget going to a Prosche dealer?
I'm in the process of adding side skirts and a turbo nose, and I suspect that my Porsche dealer is simply a middleman, adding little to no value, but probably taking a cut everyhwere it can (on parts, on installation, etc).
My apologies to any P dealers out there who I may be offending. I'd be interested in hearing from you too on this subject.
Any opinions? Thanks.

Gary,
It might be worth your while to ask dealer/sales people where they send their body work, since they don't do it at a dealerships...
But the markup might not be that much and you will be dealing with a more reputable point of contact.
The hotrod guys have the best resources for body, paint, and upholstery. When you visit the shop you will find that your Pcar dealer subs work out, too and marks it up. The dealer will most likely not share his resource knowledge with you. The hot rod guys will.
I would not necessarily go with the place that the dealership uses. I did when I had my aerokit installed on my C2 and the paint on that was never right. Scratches, blobs, fisheyes, everything... the dealership would take it back and send it in for work but they would fix one spot and screw up another. You would be better off getting a personal rec. from somebody that has had work done... better yet, make friends with somebody in the industry for the straight poop on where to go.
my dealer does lots of stuff like that. however, they have a full body shop and are ppg certified. wish i was in CA. seems like there are tons of great custom shops out there.
