Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I suspect (based on what I read during my research prior to purchase) that the PSS9's would ride softer (and they offer adjustibility).
Leading evidence: '(based' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '(based' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Recommend him' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
He runs a good business and is responsive to questions.....I would recommend him.

Suggestion
(However, these are only opinions based on what I've read rather than a test drive of both set-ups.) I may still go to a fully adjustable coilover down the road, but the X74 is a pretty good system and my mechanic told me the installation was a breeze.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have had them on my '02 C2 for about 1 month now. Here are my impressions.
Plus
+ The handling is transformed....every lane change is quicker, every movement of the wheel is responded to NOW, the car feels like it has been "turned up to eleven" (and as you know the handling was already very good with the stock set-up).
+ Did I mention that these things (x74) handle!!
Minus
- I wish the drop were a little more agressive (I'd love another 0.5" drop all the way around). It would be nice if this were adjustable like the aftermarket systems.
- I wish the dampening were adjustable (again like the aftermarket coilovers)
- This set-up is STIFF. I'm not kidding...STIFF. The trade-off for that "live-wire" handling is a seriously degraded ride quality. I love the handling improvements but be forwarned about the ride.
I suspect (based on what I read during my research prior to purchase) that the PSS9's would ride softer (and they offer adjustibility). However, I'd imagine the X74 would perform a slightly better at the track. (However, these are only opinions based on what I've read rather than a test drive of both set-ups.) Good luck with your choice!!
Great review, Ray. You rock! Thanks again for the info.
Good point about the ride height, I would have thought the X74 drop was a bit more the .5 all around. Have you driven on other coilovers?
I think you may have mis-understood part of my post. The drop I got was a little over and inch in the front and around an inch in the rear (I'm at roughly 25.25" F and 25.5" R from the ground to the top of the wheel opening). What I said is that I'd like around 0.5 inches MORE all around (maybe a little less than that).
As I said it is a good system and it really does improve the handling.
Good luck with your choice!!
Evo, I think we discussed this a couple weeks ago, but I am jumping over to the x74. I have the parts sitting in a box, just trying to find the time to install! I wanted to do it myself, but just might end up taking it to TKX. If I do, I will let you know and you can take a ride/drive with the JIC's and then the X74.
Ray, my mistake... I tend to reply to post without thinking sometimes, if you know what i mean lol
Chris, would love to see your car. I've been in contact with Taso as I want him to do my suspension as well. I just can't make up my mind over what freaking suspension to get. arrghhh If you are ever free (and all rennlist members as well), you should come on some runs.... We've been doing a bunch and there will be alot more with the warm weather coming. Where'd you pick up your X74 from? And do you have the GT3 sways wtih it? Gert is having a pretty good deal right now
I got mine through Gert. He had a good price and I had purchsed from him in the past with no problems. He runs a good business and is responsive to questions.....I would recommend him.
