Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

, but if you go with a larger wheel your tire's profile needs to be adjust downwards to keep the rolling diameter close to what you had with 18s.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust downwards' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'very stupid question' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust downwards' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

so at risk of being banned, I'm gonna ask what is likely a very stupid question.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Alright - I'm already at risk of being banned because of my other newbie post (but I'm working on pics so hopefully that gets me out of jail).... so at risk of being banned, I'm gonna ask what is likely a very stupid question.
Does a 19" rim WITH tire mounted have a longer diameter than an 18" rim with tire mounted? Basically after doing some research, I'm reconsidering my decision to lower the car. If 19" fill out the gap, then there's no point in lowering the car.
Flame away! (hiding under my flame-retardant blanket)!
The answer is, it depends..... Depends on tire size
Here is how to calculate diameter.
Tire width * Profile *2 + rim diameter
Dont forget to convert Tire width to inches by dividing my 25.4
So 315/30-19 ---> diameter= (315/25.4) * 0.30 *2 +19 = 26.44 inches
285/35-18 ---> diameter = (285/25.4) * 0.35 *2 +18 = 25.85 inches
Calculate away
Hi newb,
won't ban you quite yet
, but if you go with a larger wheel your tire's profile needs to be adjust downwards to keep the rolling diameter close to what you had with 18s. Go to to the
tire calculator at 1010tire
to determine what size you can go up to.
Now get those pics posted!
First, there are no stupid questions...just stupid people asking questions
Sorry, couldn't resist that one
Yes, you want the diameter to be very close if not right on to maintain the gearing the car has, the speedometer reading (which mine is 3mph off from the factory anyway?) and the odometer reading. Last one being the big one as you do not want to put more miles on the odometer than it really has. Less would be good though.
I mentioned this in your other thread but I mention it here also. If you get 19" wheels (or different 18" wheels) make CERTAIN you ge the proper offset to fit your C4S. Here is qw wheels offset calculator that will help.

Now post the @#$%^&* pics
Oh, and in case you don't know how to post a pic I'll remove that excuse too.
Here are my "can't miss" instructions for posting a pic. These instructions have NEVER failed to help someone post pics, so the pressure is on YOU to keep my string alive!

Mods....if there are some mods....why can't you guys just have the software that resizes the pix automatically when they get uploaded? There would be many more pix up here if you did. I know some other sites do that....makes the process much much easier and more fun. Just my 2 centavos.
