This is for members with "WIDE" version seats. I am sure several members have regular seats, but I am specifically looking for seats which can accommodate larger drivers.
I am 6'3, 230#. 38" waist, fairly broad so the stock sport seats cause me to roll my shoulders forward when I sit in them.
I occasionally track the car, so I need to move to something that has 5-6pt harness support as well.
Do any members here use any of the wide version seats? For reference I can't fit comfortably in a Sparco Evo 2, I fit, but it hurts the hell out of the hips, super, super tight.
I've been eye balling the Cobra Suzuka GT / Pro for a while, but I haven't come across the opportunity to sit in one. Seats I've thought about picking up:
-Sparco Evo 3
-Cobra Suzuka GT
-Corbeau Forza Wide (not FIA)
-Buddy Club Wide Buckets
-Recaro Profi XL
I'd like to know:
-Which wide seat you use?
-Which bracket you use?
-If you use sliders, which set?
-Any additional head clearance?
-Any rubbing on the door or center console?

but going to a 5-6 point without a roll bar is unadvised...
good luck on your search, you might find a shop that stocks seats and go sit in a few...we have several places nearby that do - think TUNER or RACE shops
Thanks ivangene, I was planning to use the Brey Krause Harness Bar. I run in DE, so it's a weekend racer. If I ever get serious about racing competitively, it will likely be in a different car.
Depending on what you want to spend sparco has a few options. I personally like the Chrono road but wish it could be upgraded in leather. The top of the line Milano are sweet and adjustable... I believe they have all dimensions on their site. The big problem is locating and actually sitting in one before purchasing. Im 6' 250 and have been looking into options as well... The stock seats are a joke if your tracking... Im using CG locks to keep myself from sliding around for now.
Yes, finding seats to sit in is difficult indeed.
I know there are several wide options, the next big question is if they'll fit in the 996. The suzuka seat by Cobra is one of my favorite seats to look at, but it's going to be odd enough with dark blue interior and black seats.
