the stock rods and whatnot are all good for a supercharger at 8-10PSI...no need to change em.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

What aftermarket rods and pistons are you using??? What is your favorite?

POST 2Original post

Not much to choose from and I am pretty sure everyone on this forum is stock.

POST 3Original post

there a few companys making the mfor turbos nowadays, but you wont find many guys with built motors around here dude,

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Why is that? You would think there would be mod motors all over the place?

POST 5Original post

Porsche engines are hand carved by gnomes from single billets of aluminum. You can't open them up.

POST 7Original post

I recommend the factory titanium rods! That's what I've got.

POST 8Original post

cost/benifit ratio my friend. the stock rods and whatnot are all good for a supercharger at 8-10PSI...no need to change em. Areas for major power gains with the 996 motors that are cost effective: supercharger kit, cams/ecu package. i wish it were like a honda or a mass produced american car where the cost of the R&D and manufacturing could be spread over a larger number of potental units sold thus bringing the price down. granted there is also the "porsche tax". sorry..its late and i'm probably not being very coherent. bottom line is, no benifit unless youre building some crazy speciality motor for a spec class race series or something.
