Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

That being said, I would recommend any brand except the H&R.

If you are "financially conservative" like me, you can find a good used setup for under $1500-1600.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm sure this topics been beaten to death, so if there is a specific post I can refer to, lemme know
Otherwise, I'm contemplating the H&R sport springs for daily use, or even the H&R coilovers, since the tire rack has them priced pretty low right now.
Any and all comments and opinions about ride quality vs. handling improvements would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
Indeed the topic has been beaten to death many times. But this is why we're here
In any case, the only proper solution for a Porsche is a coilover suspension. It is entirely possible to do just springs, but it is too "honda-ish". Basically the rebound rate on the new springs will not match the factory dampers and you will get a sloppy ride along with your lower suspension.
That being said, I would recommend any brand except the H&R. This issue too has been beaten to death, but basically the Bilstein PSS9 is one of the best overall models. Also check out Techart, FVD, RUF. You will spend $2000-$5000 on coilovers + $500-$800 for install & corner balance. What's the difference between the $2000 PSS9 setup and a proprietary $5000 setup? Not much unless you are tracking the car competeively.

I'd like to hear any and all of the downsides regarding the H&R "coilover" set up, which I'm assuming has alot to do with the non-adjustablility of the dampers themselves. Are they appropriate for "semi-street" use, meaning MOSTLY street, and daily driven roads, rather than PURE track use. I remember hearing alot of great things about JRZ thru a post regarding Todd Serrotas 996 Cab, but I'd like to hear more recent opinions!

I don't know the cases on C4S or TT, but the H&R coilovers on my C2 works great and daily usable... I never find the ride too harsh, I'm more than happy if it would somehow stiffer!!! I used to have H&R coilover on my 993 C4S too, no problem at all but don't know the newer 1s.....
Gert @ Carnewal is the best source for competetively priced parts.
My understanding of the negatives of the H&R setup are:
1. Uneven front/rear ride height no matter what adjustments are made
2. Squeaks and Rattles that will annoy the heck out of you
3. Less frequently, but still present is an occasional leaking from the damper.
You should note that all of these complaints are taken from the 996 Turbo setup, not a C2 or C4S setup.
I know that many people have H&R and I am not saying that every single unit has these problems, but I personally know 1 person who has had this trouble, and my mechanic refuses to install H&R for the 996TT for the same reasons I already mentioned.
I had H&R coilovers for a couple of years before switching to Motons and had none of the problems TM mentioned. Actually, they were a great street/track compromise. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. This is the first I've heard of someone not being happy with them.
bilsteins...but I also am waiting to hear from a C2-C4 owner that has had the RUF set up....
Anyone that made the switch have a USED set of h&r coilvers laying around....?? If so how much would it take to get them outta yer GAraGe!
The only reason I hesitate is because they haven't necessarily been tuned for the "heavier" 3.6 cars here in USA....Has anyone out there "recently" tried the H and R coilovers on their "latemodel" 03- coupes yet...do they need more damping on the street/highway mode...or do they feel compliantly drivable and commuter friendly....
