Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am heading to my first track event this month (WOOHOO) and I would like to ensure my brakes are up to snuff beforehand. I'm planning to flush the fluid and replace with something like Motul 600 and replace the pads if necessary. Since this is my first outing I'm going to hold off on getting a set of pads just for the track. The tech inspection says 50% pad material required. After pulling a front and rear wheel it looks like I have between 7 and 8mm left on the front and 8.5mm left on the rears (tough to get the caliper in the right spot to measure). Anyone know the thickness on new OEM c4s/turbo pads?

POST 2Original post

New pad thickness for C4S/Turbo is: front approx 12 mm rear approx 12 mm (per the service manual)

POST 3Original post

Dotframe, first track event huh? Man, you are going to have some serious fun in the 4S. Take is easy and get your tires warmed up. There is a lot to soak in on the first event but once you are comfortable with all the track protocol you will be grinning from ear to ear. I use Motul as well. Your stock pads will be fine for now, considering you have enough material left.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Loren, that is good news! I am pretty nervous but also excited. I know I have a lot to learn but I'm looking forward to it.

POST 6Original post

You will be fine just watch your mirrors. Have a great time!
